I was a whore for this song when it was directed at me for the first several years of my life :\

these top two songs are so personal and close, they feel like they're sitting right next to you. when i first heard them i was immediately impacted

Needle in the Hay by Elliot Smith, paired with this scene from the movie. the best song choice for a scene ever

This song was the soul reason i started to learn to play guitar. I heard it on the radio when I was 11 and my mind was fucking blown.

the song Alucard by Gentle Giant used to scare the shit out of me. Recently i started digging up my dads old vinyls and fell on this song again, instantly fell in love with it because it shows me how much has changed for the better and how i can look into the face of fear and laugh at it. ie: I'm not the pussy i used to be, I'm a new man and damn proud of it.

I tried to find mine but it's gone, by Jim and Jesse called 'It's a Long Way To The Top Of The World'

i think their's is just a cover but almost exactly the same.

super old country, grew up with old country music and loved it, but our cassette tapes are all gone and the songs are nowhere to be found.. the sadness. and that is why i hate most new country with their electric guitars and shitty faked southern accents

hahaha i only quickly went through this thread on mobile and none of the videos loaded or displayed...didn't realize literally every single song posted is a joke.

thats what happens when you create so many awful threads in so little time. everyone stops even trying to responds truthfully.

Honestly, this song opened me up to a more broader view of music. Before I heard this song, and the whole album soon after, I mostly listened to Cypress Hill and some weird Italo disco. I didn't actually listen to much music at all.

.

SOAD forever.

wxcept most of them are serious..... instead of posting your false assumption and dissing me why dont you chop your mothers head off and fuck her down the esophagus :)

none of them are taken seriously. Don't kid yourself now.

I do appreciate the attempted insult with the smile at the end though. It reminded me a lot of my middle school days.

this

songs have a huge effect on my mood, and in one circumstance that mood/state of mind changed my life

if my musical interests could be considered an important part of my life, than this is the single song that i can point to as a pivotal moment in my life.

I heard Convoy - the Paul Brandt cover on a dark country road late one night when I was way back in grade 9, I had grown up with a lot of kids listening to hip hop which I really didnt care for, so I really didnt listen to much music or have any bands or artists that I really knew anything about. This song sparked a devotion to Country music for the next 4 years of my life, although I've since moved on; the stereotypes I used to defend it from I eventually found to be true. I rarely listen to country radio anymore, but I do still love some of the more creative artists, and this song will always be THE song that sparked an appreciation for music in my life.
