Has anyone ruptured an Ear drum before?

I did cliff jumping the other day and it sucks. Theres alot of popping and ringing. Theres not much they can do for it so Im just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and if they have any tips or happy endings. The ringing is super annoying.
 
I've burst the same eardrum 3 times (it gets easier to do after its happened once). Take some advil or something similar it helps a ton. Also, it might leak out some bloody looking fluid and it feels a hell of a lot better after that happens
 
Same exact situation almost exactly a year ago. Just make sure you keep getting checked by the doc so its healing properly and so that its not infected from the water. You just gottta tough it out its annoying at first but it gets better. Mine wasn't fully healed and i had to fly from colorado to california and that kinda sucked cuz its a fast flight so it was like acclimation to ascention then acclimation to descending which was annoyig and slightly painful. my hearing is good in that ear and stuff though. Just a nuisance.
 
ya it did hurt like a bitch and then some fluid/ pressure was released and it felt better. now its just the ringing thats annoying.
 
no, but i did get "severe acoustic trauma" from my fucking gay factory job

I was tubing and went like 10 feet above the water. didnt think i was upside down so i kept holding on. landed my ear on my friends knee. it still sounds weird, that was last week. its all on video too. bonus.
 
Yeah dude it sucks hurts tons. Was heading up the mountain one time and it burst and got like shit all over my jacket haha but yeah not much you can do for it just don't put ear drops in because it will absolutely kill you with pain found that out the hard way ( that was different time when i didn't know it burst)
 
I ruptured my eardrum once on the second day of a week-long live aboard dive trip. All i could do for the next 5 days was watch my family dive, read and get drunk on the boat because we never docked and I wasnt allowed to swim
All I have for advice is to not get it wet, and maybe go see your doctor for antibiotics
 
it sucks. i did it the same way, tried doing a gainer with a 5, dont know the real name for it, and landed on the side of my head
