Has anyone ever spray painted their helmet?

I have a white bern that's probably 4+ years old and just looks dingy and banged up. However I've never had any major crashes in it, so I'm not sure I need to buy a new one.

Curious if anyone has spray painted (or plastidipped??) a helmet successfully and can offer advice? Photos appreciated.

So this used to be a weird dark blue color, so I cleaned it off, sprayed a layer of gold, put wu-tang shaped decal, spray painted matte black, took off decal, added sticker, profit
 
I spray painted my smith vantage helmet black (it used to be white). It seems to be perfectly fine, although I have heard that the paint can somehow damage the plastic shell and make it less safe, although I don't know if that is a real possibility. The paint does chip easily though, and after a few months of getting banged around a bit there are quite a few flakes missing.
 
yeah man, i'd suggest getting a panelbeater to do it, thats what i did and they did it sooo nice. i'd be careful about doing it yourself
