dude heres my advice for mexico: talk to eveeeeerybody your age and get drunk you'll loosen up and become friends and then walk around just telling all the girls to go to a designated place (for us it was the snack bar that was open 24 7 with liquor) and hit that shit

I went 8 years ago, it was pretty sick. Word of Advice: don't take any bay tours that aren't private, especially if the boat is called "Santa Maria". Worst experience of my life.

puerto vallarta is very amaricanized. everything is in us dollars. it is a cruise ship port, so thousands of tourists. If i were you i would go north along the coast and visit little surf villages. Salulita is a good one. there is a tequilla bar on the beach and lots of real mexican food.
