Hardest Inbound trails in the east

I saw the other thread and this got me started thinking that theres some pretty gnarly trails in the east too, just not quite that comparable.

I'd say in bounds DJ's tramline at cannon, Kinsman is brutally long and avalanche is just steep.
 
The wall at holiday valley is steep af but it's super short so it's not that bad. But it's crazy steep
 
Blackline at Magic from way up top has to be on the list, especially the Black Magic portion of it. Mandatory multi-stage cliff drops, narrow and of course a full audience when the black chair is running. Then when you're nice and gassed at the bottom, you get to send The Ledges.

There are many other hard trails on the EC though, Northern NH has a few gems as is M1 and others at Smuggs, Goat at Stowe and such. I love those trails- either fall line skiing or old school switchbacking. The best. Magic definitely has a few killers though. Redline from the very top is awesome, and Magician from the very top is pretty great too. Not a lot of places you can ski 40+ degree runs with big drops and shit but I sure do love that a few places really pride themselves on that type of shit. Makes me moist, yo.
 
mad river glen, and i dont think its on the map but "octopus garden"

the snow is pretty much epic here in the northeast... when its deep ski something steep, find some power line trails or even mining pits... for some freshie turns.

Oh the wall...

A couple years ago I rode holiday for the first time. My friends told me the wall was steep but steep in wny usually doesn't mean that steep. So I was comin down whatever that run is and i saw people stopped before the wall and I just kept skiing at a normal/fastish speed. I could see where the wall started and thought I would air into it because I thought it was gonna be like a roller... bad idea. super bad idea. I thought I was going to die. My friends were saying I made it like 3/4 of the way down it. Scary as fuckin shit.

Curious if anyone knows the angle of the slope?

never actually skiied this, but I've driven by Cannon Mt NH and saw this gnarly sleep mess of rock and snow, assuming that's what you mean
 
Paradise at Mad River Glen is generally ranked pretty high for the east, although as someone previously stated the real hard stuff at Mad River isn't on the trail map

Yes that would be it, if you've seen it you know why I think it might be the gnarliest just for the fact when you stand at the top you look all the way down. BTW I AM TALKING IN BOUNDS ON THE MAP I belive DJS should be part of the ski the east freeride tour

It is steep and usually a sheet of ice. I hit it twice on monday and even with all the snow it was an ice skating rink.

I still think it's to wide to be considered, and there is no fear of rocks or cliffs.
 
I thought everyone agreed some runs in Squaw were the toughest in north america. Revy can have really challenging lines if you look for them.

Also off Castelrock is Rumble, for inbounds marked trails, narrow snaking chute that has lots of rocks and shit to fuck you up.

Aha. The average slope here is 15-17 degrees.

I thought the wall was 37ish. When there was that Avalanche a few years back I remember reading an article and I could have sworn it said 30 something.

Oh, I was gonna say...There are some 40-50 degree runs at Steamboat. 27 sounded strange lol.

lol trust me dude. Tramline is no where near the hardest thing at Cannon. You just gotta know where to look....

Dude I know and I do know where to look If you bothered to read I said on the map like a marked trail. I've skied gnarlier shit at cannon
 
Julio in Killington is up there for me. The trees and cliffs make it much tougher I would say than just a steep wide open run (aka The Wall)

And yeah, I missed the east part...

Jay Peak's ridge is the gnarliest terrain I have seen out east. La 42 at Le Massif was known for being pretty epic, but they tore it down to make a unusable GS race track. It was 2km of boulder bumps, trees and drops without a way of getting out once you hike 1km out to the trailhead. The Mt.Ligory has being getting some attention there, but the terrain is still pretty tame.

Oh, yeah, Kamikaze and the line under the chair at Stoneham is Quebec City are sick! Although the first section under the chair is perma-banned, the tripple ledge is worth getting your pass pulled. Sadly, Stoneham is owned by RCR and rarely open those runs.

I looked it up on some website, but I think it's steeper cause that shit is straight up and down. But the problem is, like the whole run is basically a green circle. There is just a small portion that's steep af

27 might be the average of the whole hill or something. Isn't there an upper wall and lower wall? I haven't been over there in a long time and never knew it well. But 27 could be all of that?
 
Beargut at cannon mountain is pretty gnarly. I've never skied it. But I hear it's gnarly as fuck.
