I wish skiing could be more like it was back before it went mainstream. Skiing was just more fun it seemed like when it was just starting to progress towards what it is nowadays, and i miss that. I remember being pumped to see new line skis and such, and when spaceframes were the shit. The whole vibe of the sport was diffrent. I'm not saying it should still be like that but holy shit. Look at how much our sport has changed.
 
Candide and Tanner's segements are still two of the sickest I've ever seen IMO. The entire movie was waaay sick though. So much progression year to year back then, it was nuts.
 
me too. i wonder if he still gets out to ski.last i heard he was working in some office job, i wanna say an orthopedic center or something lame like that. I used to idolize his sw. 7 mute.
 
I wouldn't say skiing was less of a fashion show back then. who could forget everyone wanting knit headbands and puffed out oakley gear. it was still VERY trend based back then, it just so happened that there were fewer people following those trends.
 
What has changed is the instant and constant media coming out of the skiing world. Nothing else has changed. Progression is witnessed weekly now by edits being posted and trends are created monthly. Back then you had to wait and entire year for the new movies to come out to see any progression or trends. It was a lot more exciting.

I loved when Happy Dayz came out and everyone was fighting over gorilla steez. The better movie to come out that year though, was Sterotype. I still watch that for Dash Longe's segment.
