Hi. For my final degree's project I designed and built my own pair of skis. They turned out pretty good. Let me know what you think. Thanks!!

It looks like they came out pretty clean. Do you want to talk about the process a little bit? What kind of ski did you design? Did you build your own press?

They look pretty sick! I wanted to do the same thing this season, but money. Is it just the picture, or are the tips a little flat?

Roughly how much did it cost to make this? Including the press if you built that yourself. Always thought it would be a cool project. Also curious about how long it took.

OP came here to show off the magical skis he's made and hasn't logged back in since. 10/10 thread

Thanks for your comment!! I didn't build the press. I found two guys in my city who built it by their own. They made the press with some firefighters hoses. The ski is built in ash wood, and as a rainforcement I used one fiberglass layer avobe and under the core, and one carbon fiber tape to add some stiffness. I used these dope yellow ABS sidewalls, and for the graphics I used some black and camo fabric.

Fortunately I didn't have to build the press... The total cost of the skis was about 420€ (bindings included). It's quite the same price as buying a new ones, but making your own skis is awesome!!

Thanks dude!! The tips came out a little flat... when taking them out of the press, the material recovered a little of its original shape... I'ts a usefull thing to know when preparing the press
