Hand Drag Help

^that

and its all about timing your pop. wait until your right near the rollover and just pop your legs up. its easier to learn on steeper/longer rollers/knuckles too. good luck and dont get discouraged because it does take a few tries

for two handed:

go fast, jump and reach back to touch the knuckle with both arms like you dropped something and trying to grab it, keep looking over your shoulder and bring your knees to your chest to straighten up. for a 5, just keep looking after you straighten up

they come very naturally i think. Just huck it hard and you will know what to do. Its easy to learn, if you dont land it the first time, you will feel what went wrong and be able to do it right the next time

my description is for off jumps, not knolls or knuckles. probs one of the most fun tricks, and good for learning corks/ getting used to being slightly upside down.

what i do is come in sitting down, butt over heel peice. as you get to the jump let then hand of the side your spinning to drop back, dragging along the snow. upon reaching the lip throw the opposite arm over you body, reaching around to meet the other hand. this is going to feel weird. essentailly what your doing is using your head/shoulders to initiate the spin, but the low center of gravity is going to put you into an off axis spin. it looks really cool and you can do anywhere from 1 to 7 (as far as ive gotten). you may end up slight in the back seat (on 3's, by far the easiest) but after some time you'll get the hang of it. i might be able to put up a video tomorrow, weather permitting.

1's are less of a full hand drag, and more just karate kicking over something and letting your hand hit it. its a way different concept, for me atleast.

I love doing these though. they fun on rollerblades and on skis. I can do the double handed 360 ones as well, they're harder.

If it's something really small that you're gonna put your hand on, try and use your hand to spin you around. it's more of a plant than a drag.

i think hes talking more like rollers type of thing, in which case get the 3 and it comes naturally after that

so if im goin up to a knuckle of a big jump, i just pop off it, and kinda set a roatation for a 180 and put my hand down and hopefully ride away? is it as easy as it seems if im doin it with line ep pros?

No this is wrong.
If you are learning a handrag 180:Approach the knuckle of the jump with a very good speed. As you are approaching the knuckle, basically sit down on the back of your skis. Right before the knuckle, let your left or right (whichever way you are most comfortable) drag behind the ski. Like someone said above, as if you are reaching back for something - but keep your head looking forward. At the knuckle, pop over the knuckle, your legs/torso will pop and your hand will drag across the knuckle. Spot your landing by keeping your head looking at where you want to land and boom - stomped. MOST IMPORTANTLY: remember to afterbang!!!

1. find a roller with a nice drop to it.

2. pop off of it and lean back and rotate as if you were doing a cork 180

3. stick your hand out and drag it on the roller, to keep you from going back

4. try to learn foreward more and maybe push your hand into the roller to balance you?

5 land switch and ride it out like a thug

thats the only way i can try to explain a 1 hander, i dunno you just kinda do it

for hand drag 180s, find a poppy roller, the rollers on stepup/stepover jumps are perfect. go in with enough speed to clear atleast 10 feet down the landing. crouch low and pop as you are coming up the roller, not when you are on top of it. when you pop kick your feet in front of you and put your hand down and grab the knuckle of the roller. if you get enough of the roller it will kind of uncork you, but you still have to kick your feet back under you. its probably gonna take at least 5 times of not getting your feet under you and sliding down the landing on your hip. the two things i focus on are popping at the right time and kicking my feet back under me.

false statement. give the kid some confidence.
just do what everyones(well, most people in this thread) sayin and you got it dude! theyre super fun and easy and look pretty impressive. best of luck man
