Does anyone know anything about the area? I applied late to Hampshire and I'm really anxious as to whether or not I'll get in. Long fucking story.I visited two days ago for an interview (and because I was in the area anyway) and it was almost eerie the sheer volume of similarities there were between that college and I. What a perfect area, too.

Late admissions = super anxiety...

Anyone go to any of the five college consortium schools?

SSSUUUUUUPPPERR hippie-liberal type of school with a really tough academic program. it takes the right kind of person to enjoy a school like that, but if it fits you right ive heard its a pretty great school. a friend of mine goes there and he loves it, but the number of students who choose to leave after the first year is record breaking.

Smack dab in the middle of mass. There are a bunch of ski resorts within 2 hours such as Jiminy peak, butternut, or mount snow, but I'm not sure of any really close.

I ski at jiminy and work there cuz its 15 minutes away from me and its kinda shitty, but butternut has good vibes and is sweet and obviously mt snow is awesome. amherst is a pretty hippy town, but it sounded like you like it, good luck.

Why do so many leave after the first year? Too academically challenging?

When I went to Plattsburgh, I had no goals, no idea why I was there, and I just smoked weed and drank til I was shaking the morning after - then did it again. Took a few months of real thought (and some dmitri), but I've built a solid academic path for myself that I'm going to very seriously pursue, mostly agricultural in nature. Hampshire seems like the perfect place for it, if I can avoid the drugs/drinking.

my sister went there for a semester and like previously stated their curriculum is tough and not your regular grading policy, however in the hour it took to move her in i must have seen like 80 hot chicks
