Bungie announced yesterday that they are continuing the halo with spartans, It looks sick. My guess is that it really is Marathon because there are multiple spartans or master chief found more spartans. Sorry for being a halo Nerd, bungie just does an amazing job at telling a story...
 
Reach isn't Marathon. Reach is the game of The Fall of Reach, one of the books. Seeing as how beta isn't coming out til 2010, i'm not all that excited yet. I am stoked on Halo 3: ODST though!

 
yea i saw that the other day, and i read the book... haha but i have no idea what kind of game it could be? maybe like squad based spartan warfare or something. that could be pretty cool
 
kk scratch that bit haha. i am excited to see how it goes and if it follows the story in the books because that could mean more games that follow the story of First Strike and Ghosts of Onyx, which is an altogether amazing story.
 
Holy shit. Awesome. I'm a huge halo fan. If it's the game of The Fall Of Reach, i'm super stoked. That was a great book.
 
halo wars, halo 3, halo ODST, Halo Reach......talk about milking a franchise for all it's worth. When Reach and ODST come out, this series will be totally played out, yet people will still line up to throw money at it.
 
the thing with reach and ODST is that there is no master chief, I believe. Can it be a halo game without him? I think these are rent before buy games.
 
Reach will probably have a Master Chief, he was in the book after all. whether or not you get to play as him or as the other Spartans is anyone's guess.

i just wish they had made a game of Contact Harvest first. I would love to play as Sergeant Johnson when the Covenant first show up. what they really should have done with the games was start at the beginning instead of the middle.
 
Master chief will be in this game but just for a bit. The majority of the book is based on the other group of spartans. If they play the game with the other spartans or the master cheif it should be sick. The outcome is already set in stone so i want to know how far this game will go into the future of the series.
 
Damn I should get on with reading Contact harvest and the other most recent one. I love the halo backstory. Hopefully I will be able to bring my 360 to university so I can somehow play it there hahaha.
People, if you think Halo is getting played then you have NO idea of the back story that goes into these games. Playing the halo campaign is scratching the surface, although it does add a much more visually beautiful element to the experience. That is why I keep buying the games.
And the music. I am a huge fan of Martin O'Donnel's work.
 
too bad the games came way WAY before the damn books were made. i agree that the books add a lot but the Halo series i feel is getting used by Microsoft and Bungie just to make a payday.... its getting played out.
 
played out? the games rule and the books and whole story kick ass...idk what your talking about, i mean i can see it but what theses days is not to make a payday?
 
i personally didnt like the games after the first one... the second one felt rushed and i just felt not at home with the third one... it could come from the fact that i own a PS3 but not a 360... plus im not a big fan of shooters unless they are like Far Cry 2... wish i could create a mercenary for that instead of picking one.
 
ya i respect that for sure and i do agree with halo 2 being rushed but i LOVE halo 3 and when i was in like 6th grade the halo books uped my reading level a bunch (im a sophmore now) idk i can see where you are coming from and thanks for not coming back with a asshole remark
 
could be because im 20 too i just feel bored playing them.. sure its "rated" a mature game but i personally had more fun reading the damn books than playing the game. games like Bioshock, Far Cry 2, and the Mercenaries series as well as sports.....
 
games that i can customize who im playing as, the tools i use, the special powers, or just in general have more choices for weapons entertain me... probably part of the reason ive played through MGS4, MGS3, and DMC 4 like 8 times each.... stupid knee injuries in the winter....
