#1) mountains are mountains, and dont get READY for snowfall. They arent like your girl who needs 3.5 hours to get ready to go to her prom.

#2) Use your melon, you know there are steeps here in the east. Maybe not on the hill, cuz of all the sue-happy d*cks out there, but you can find em. And you can find people skiin em.

 
^ you need to go look in a geology book, all mountains are not alike and yes certain regions have steeper grades because of the way they were formed, you know tectonic plates and all that shit..

you guys in colorado all remember the blizzard last march well i was at Breck and in one day there was over 30 inches of snow on a resort that kicks any east coast resorts ass. Also if i wanted to i could have driven to keystone, A-basin, Loveland, Copper, or vail in less than 30 minitues so east coast suck me off

plate tectonics and all that shit, huh? my advice to you is to not get into an arguement about geology against a geologist. if you want to talk about rheology of the mantle, orogenic events, geomorphic controls on slope and uplift, bring it. it would actually be a better conversation than this east vs west BS.

lay it on. if youre a geology major, sock it to me. i have a BS and an MS in geology and now work in the environmental field. ive studied geology from maine to oregon; newfoundland to antarctica. bring it. im not normally a braggart, but this is the one thing i actually know something about.

So since the east gets jack sh** for snow (I can at least admit it), does that mean we love skiing more than west coasters? I mean, who WOULDNT want to ski pow every day? But to go out when it 10 degrees, wind chills below zero, and ski boilerplate CRAP on a hill with only 2000' verts all season long... now THAT seems to me to be a real skier. How many west coasters lose several toenails a season from hard landings? How many west coasters say 'damn these conditions SUCK, but at least Im SKIING!'?
