Holy fuck this recovery is going to suck. Cab barely talk, can't eat anything, T3 are going to make it impossible to pinch a term out.

Anyone had this procedure done? tips?

I got soups tha I eat cold, Gatorade, Greek yogurt, and that's about it.

Also trading an Xbox I was going to sell for a ps vita cause I have no games for the Xbox

really have no good advice. its like 10 years since i had them removed. i just know that i sat at home, dropped pain killers like gummy bears and played video games/watched TV.

get something to move your head away from the pain.

its been a minute since I have had mine out, but I do remember when those scabs dry up in the back of your throat, its the absolute worst. Keep hydrated, sip water or Gatorade as much as possible. Try to chill out. Good luck to you!

I had mine out when i was 13. It hurt to much to swallow painkillers, so i was on a steady diet of water. I threw up alot, because of the anistetic. About a week and a half later i was fully functioning. And because i was so reluctant to eat, i was like 90 pounds

Had em out in december. Not as bad as i was expecting. Sure, it hurt like a motherfucker but i gulped percocet pretty much nonstop for a week and dont remember too much.

All you can do is be high as fuck

Not going no lie. I'm getting is done at 22 and it sucks. Surgeon said my tonsils were large and cheesy. I got them out because I got tonsil stones which are nasty as fuck and have me bad breath sometimes.

I'm happy I got the procedure, but man the recovery is going to be worse than my broken collar bone, I can tell

Do everything you can to get some liquid roxicet. It will make you not feel feelings. I was 24 when mine came out. Yea dude, it sucks. I couldnt swallow comfortay for over 3 weeks, even then it still hurt.

I ate a hamburger my first day. I made the decision that a hurt throat isnt as painful as an empty stomach.

Soup bro, lots and lots of soup if youre not able to handle the pain of swallowing solids.

Did you throw up in the hospital when you woke up?

I was super young so I don't remember much....except that the first thing I ate was nachos.....didn't go too well

Drink as much water as possible. When i got mine out i refused to drink anything because the medicine i got made my throat feel worse because it was like acid once it touched the back of my throat. Ended up getting extremely dehydrated and had to go to the hospital.

nice. thats what i was worried about. I read horror stories about people waking up and immediately throwing up blood or choking on blood.

i had that. it was the absolute worst stuff ever. like its already painful enough to breathe/swallow/eat/etc... but having to throw up during this time, it was just horrible.

there was this small skin overlap that usually held the tonsills kind of in place and it became redundant and whenever i threw up, this skin thingy got tilted back and forth. the pain from the whole stomach acid (didnt eat shit the first few days) running over the fresh wounds was also pretty nice.

Cry, ask your mom for a remote control car, eat popsicles, and ask for potato chips. At least that's how I did it when I had mine removed at age 4, and that seemed to work out aright for me.

I got food poisoning or some shit like 8 days after surgery and threw up a dozen or so times in one night. I think id kill myself if I had to deal with it again. Good luck OP, lol

Jesus Christ. Day three of recovery. Cannot wait to eat a meal. I've been living off slim fast shakes and Gatorade for 3 days. Hopefully my scabs falls off soon.

Just man up and eat some food. It hurts but you will feel better when you do. I went through it in december. Trust me. You wont even have to eat very much to feel full.

The pain of swallowing only lasts a second. The pain of an empty stomach never goes away

K so, i was drinking my slim fast and a sort of tried to spit out mucus from it, and along came this grey boogery textured glob. I'm guessing thats some of the scab?

How ironic I am sitting in bed with hospital dosage of antibiotics running through me because my tonsils are so swollen I gag when I talk too much. This sucks man

my advice to you having had the procedure just dont push it and your diet will consist of smoothies and water and thats about it. Swallowing is a chore and no one tells you how swollen the punching bag thing in the back of your throat gets thats the worst part I felt. Heal up man

I get strep about once every 2 months and bad sore throats pretty often. doc says my tonsils are causing this, which leaves me with the decision of getting em sliced out or dealing with strep all the time... this thread is making me lean towards the second option.

ask for better drugs, thats what i did when they gave me t3s for my wisdom teeth and i got percs...

haha but seriously, if you cant do solid food why dont you eat something a bit better than a slim fast. Make a smoothie with berries and banana or whatever you like with some whey protien, some coconut milk or oil, maybe some cream or yogurt and anything else youd like. Still not as good as a real meal, but it should fill you up pretty well.

Just get them removed during a time where you have nothing going one. Fall is good. No summer/no skiing

Also I got mine out cause they give me bad breath. You have more reason than me to get rid of the,. But yea, recovery sucks

Same. Mine were fucked from the inside and no amount of antibiotics could get ride of it.

Get em out. I had strep every 6 weeks for like 1.5 years and finally said enough was enough. It will never go away. Whats worse, 2 weeks of pain or a lifetime of misery and fear. Strep fucked my life so hard. Sometimes i was sick twice per term. It will ruin your life.

Get those fuckers out

Never had strep. But had nasty smelling tonsil stones. So i got rid of them. Day 5, feeling pretty good i think. But nearly out of painkillers :(

I'm at day 7 I've started to eat solid foods at day 4

the only thing is that my stiches fell off pretty early and I have a gaping hole in the corners of my mouth

I also have a suprsisingly big ammount of painkiller left

Nah man. I keep feeling great. But then the painkillers wear off. Just got 30 more t3s though so that's good

It's A LOT worse getting them removed as an adult. Asides from healing a lot more slowly, the tonsils develop and grow deeper as you age, so there is a lot more to remove.

You got stitches? Weird, I didn't get any stitches for mine. Just big old gaping holes

Dammit... I might have to. I'm getting some fancy stem cell treatments to my knee in october so I might have to combine the two procedures for a super shitty but high as fuck week.

Ok. Yea, its a totally different kind of suck. I dont remember much about gettin my wisdom teeth out except I went out to dinner that night and ate chicken parm.

Then again, i ate right away aftery tonsils because im a champ

Well after 8 days of pretty much only liquids and at my count roughly 70-80 T3s... Well bad news. First times I've had to poop in the 8 days. I though that was mainly due to the liquid diet, but holy fuck did the codeine ever constipate me! The time is took me to grab my phone, sign in, and post this, is also the amount of time I've been squeezing out on single terd. FUCK
