Hello everybody, I’d like to buy a new all mountain ski. Mainly for freestyle (so in beaten path), but also good in powder. I know it can’t be the best one in both, but is there a ski like this I could use even if I’m not super espert? Thanks

Where do you ski?

What skis are you on now?

Any skis you have used that you liked or disliked in the past?

Thank you to answer me

Where do you ski? Dolomites

What skis are you on now? None of mine, just tried some nordica last year. This would be the first one (i’m just 15 and i’d like to start freestyle)

i agree on the armada arv 96, with some tyrolia attack 13 bindings if you're asking. that's my go-to setup recommendation for cases like this because it's super good and balanced (can do anything you want) and affordable considering

thanks, as for the boots? I only have two for races (nordica and lange flex 115 and 110) so I imagine I can’t do anything with them, or I can try? Should I buy also new freestyle boots?

not really an issue as long as the boots fit you and you like them. there's not realllly a such thing as a "park boot," people use normal and race boots and whatever works for them

Ok very happy to save money :) last question, I’m 173 cm, so how high should armada arv 96 be?

How much do you weigh? Do you like longer or shorter skis generally?

I think the 177 unless you really like short skis and want the 170.

yeah dude, tons of people use stiff boots for park including me when i can afford it lol. def don't think you're missing out because you don't have a ""park boot"" with colors that are marketed toward younger people

as for length, as mystery said, you are between the two sizes and either one will work. are you good at skiing? do you like longer or shorter skis? how heavy are you?

basically the rule of thumb is your height, plus or minus a couple inches based on you, your skiing, where you ski, etc

55 kg, longer skis in general

Ok so I’m 55kg x 173 cm as i said. Since I usually use super g skis (175 and longer for me), might the 177 be for me?

I’m not expert, I do some (few) small small kickers and halfpipe. But i’d like to improve and maybe have a freestyle course next season, or learn by myself

you can go either way on these cause if you're used to super g skis then these skis will feel very easy to ski and to overpower so you could easily use them and would probably prefer them longer honestly since you're used to longer stiffer skis

however youre light and new to park so maybe in some ways you'd prefer a shorter ski

i think this is how you should decide: do you have a gut feeling about which you'd prefer? if so, go with that

if not, will the ARVs be for park only days, while you use other skis for other stuff? or will you ride them a lot for all mountain plus park? if it's the former, i say 170. if it's the latter, i say 177

if you're still on the fence, i say 177 as you have a strong skiing background and it's not like you're going to be doing super technical tricks that will make you want to shave a few centimeters off your sticks

most importantly: decide and don't worry about it again. either way will be just fine, skiing equipment questions just cause us to over-analyze shit, the difference between these two sizes is like a couple inches
