Gus Kenworthy Silvaplana World Cup Run

Low key, Gus has one of the best styles. Especially when it comes to technical skiing with big tricks.

That was such a fire run.

yes he’s good but his style is pretty cookie cutter. looks like most comp skiers. kinda confused on what you mean

If by comp skier you mean he can ski well and land super clean tricks in the rail, quarter pipe, And huge jumps yes I guess hes a comp skier.

Sponsored by J. Lindberg? Fucking sick. I wonder if they still make the all pink suit with rabbit fur trim. srsly

and those carves into big tricks are so dope.

when I think style i think keegan, henrik, emil, etc. not saying by any means that he’s a bad skier, just in my opinion, wouldn’t think of him as a “stylish” skier. not bashing his skill, i just love an individual flavor in peoples skiing and to me, his skiing looks similar to others

He's one of the most stylish and individual skiers out there just like like henrik, emil etc I find, I can spot him a mile off because he is just so bloody smooth and technical on the rails and jumps. No flailing or off balance movements. Makes it look easy when it's incredibly hard.

This is unrelated to the world cup, but does Gus have any backcountry edits? I feel like a good amount of park skiers do, I'd be really interested to see him ski powder

He hits backcountry with Bobby Brown in this
and he has backcountry in "Fly" and his "08/09" edit. Can't think of any more but I'm sure you'll find some if you search

If memory serves, he had a fair number of backcountry shots in Pretty Good, which was also filmed during 2008/2009 winter.

Blows my mind how clueless some of you kids are these days.

Gus has been a major pro since idk, like 2007? Go do your homework and watch his countless segments and edits that display elite ability/style on Park, Urban, and Backcountry.

- In short, Gus Kenworthy is without a doubt the most talented PARK skier of the last decade+. Anyone who thinks differently must think this sport started in 2015.

He's at the top, but I dunno about saying THE most talented. Wallisch is probably a safer bet for that title.

Wallisch and Gus are probably Top 2 all time at inbounds freestyle skiing at a resort. I give the nod to Gus though because his jump game has always seemed more technical to me, and his bag of tricks in the pipe is elite. Wallsich has better style, but I really do think Gus has every trick in Wallisch’s bag, plus some. Gus has been chillin back on the skiing, but the dude was an absolute machine for a solid decade, and effortlessly shows he still has it via the video just posted. Wallisch doesn’t have that shit anymore, not even close. Gus had it before Wallsich was even big on the scene.

Idk maybe watch OP’s video?

Lol I did. He’s clearly not competing in the video. No helmet, no bib, no crowd. He’s not listed on the results but maybe he just didn’t qualify?

I was wondering the same thing, was he just at the comp to cruise around? This clearly would have been a run that could make finals

Maybe he was just in the neighborhood. Thought he’d swing by and mess around a bit haha

Gus has such a sick style but its not the same style as Henrik, Emil and Keegan ETC. Its more of that clean smooth skiing however not robotic style. Its a style people like Bobby and Tom have.

Check out "Pretty Good" by Rage Films. Gus has some urban and backcountry in it.

Does gus compete at all anymore?

He was at x games and the top major contents in Europe in the fall.

U kids saying his style is cookie cutter are fucking clueless...really wish Gus spent more time skiing rather than parading around soho. His skiing is refreshing and he has the best dub 14 in the game.

Most Talented park skier ,hahaha. Last time I checked Goepper three-peated with gold at X games and has podiumed at both Olympics. He can do dubs in the pipe though he doesn't care to ski pipe. Ya Gus might have skied a little backcountry though he doesn't do shit in the ski world anymore.

Comp skiers will consider Goepper to be the best of all time due to consistency and he's still going.

Lol Goepper placed 15th on that course. Out of 15 skiers. That’s last for those of you keep track at home.

Tanner and Henrik are probably 1 and 2 "best all time". I don't think that was the issue though. For "Most talented" Gus has a good case. He's won some medal and always is a threat to make finals in at least two disciplines. Goepper may do dubs in the pipe for shits but he'll never win a silver medal, just like Torin probably won't medal in slope.

For someone who has been on this website for almost 10 years, I would expect you to be a lot smarter

Uh ok? What’s your take?

Gus is good, but the Best from the last decade? Give me a break. That's not even desirable tbh. I would say that are many better skiers than Gus from the last drcade

Oh wait, you got me. It's April fools. For a second I actually believed that you thought gus was the best skier from the last decade lol.

Not saying that at all. I’m saying PARK skier - jumps, pipe, rails... in bounds features at a resort.

Definetly one of the best all around skiers of that last decade too, but not the best. Have you ever seen any of his segments from when he used to film?

I guess it's all opinion based, but from my pov haurlaut, wallisch and many others are more talented park skiers.

I'm talking consistent over his whole career. Gus never won anything slope while Goepper won three X games. He also just started doing Big Air again and competed well for his first one in years at World champs in Park City. Gus is a well rounded skier but if were talking all around Tanner Henrik and Sammy Carlson would murder him.

it's not all opinion based, gus is one of the most well rounded freestyle skiers of our generation. You really can't deny it. He has the skill set to win any competition at any given time in any discipline. His bag of tricks is deeper than wallisch's and i don't think henrik has the pipe tricks that gus has.

Im far from the biggest gus fan in the world but you have to give credit where it's due. If he skied more than 6 times a year he would be the #1 skier in the world in right now it terms of rankings i bet. The dude spends 8 months in NYC and then goes to Switzerland and throws dub 16's like theyre nothing. Incredibly talented skier. "many many more" lmfao..
