Its just cause he came out, otherwise him, Joss and Goepper wouldve been on it together after Sochi. Maybe some heads watching it will look into freeskiing

It's kind of turned into his identity lol... But he's doing some good work for the lgbt community. I follow him on IG, snapchat, Facebook etc and I'd say skiing is 5% or less of the content.

Yeah I feel like every non skier who knows of him just starts off with "theres that gay pro skier." Which is true, and I mean he seems passionate about his lifestyle so good for him for making it stronger. The only thing that bums me out is that its still such a big deal to media, I just feel like everything I see on him is focused on him coming out and not so much on his actual talent. No hate on him being gay or really him at all, I mean I assume hes getting endorsed for all his appearances and stuff, plus in this case its Steve Fucking Harvey. But I just dont like the fact that theyre only focusing on him, yes hes the first action sports athlete to come out and has a very respectable story but I think they should include what gave him his fame to start.
 
um his brother just gave the answer that he would be shocked if his grandmother got her taint pierced. Steve Harvey would not even repeat his answer

The funny thing is Kaya Turski came out in an interview earlier this year that was published on NS yet no one reacted or said anything. Double standard? who knows, did any of you even see that interview?

Well I actually had no clue, I mean I don't think she was the first female action sports athlete like Gus was for the males to come out so it just wasn't as publicized I guess

i'm gonna need a source on that.

but gus made a huge deal about him coming out, as well as him getting a bunch of publicity in sochi with the silver medal, the puppies and that thing with Miley cyrus made sure that the general public already knew his name before coming out. whether it was intentional or not (i doubt it) it sure worked.

as for Kaya, she hasn't really done anything worth noticing since x games and dew tour a few years back. and these days an article on ns doesn't really get a ton of views compared to the magazine cover that gus had lined up.
