definitely doable without crampons. Did it mid april without them. I want to head back up one more time

It is doable without them, but the descent was super gnarly, people falling everywhere. The trail from the headwall to hojos was terrible. Bring crampons, seriously. Ill get the article up on Wed with pixs and a chest mounted gopro vid of my run down. I was so beat and the weather was moving in that I only got one run down unfortunately =(

Skied The Chute on Saturday, it was unreal! So damn steep, like climbing a ladder. First time and it was well worth the hike

heading up friday night and camping.. looks like we have to post up about an hour outside of tucks and drive in the morning.

are skins a totally useless idea? or is there still a bit of snow on the hike into the bowl?

looking forward to this, gonna be an adventure!

There is a ton left in the bowl, but you wouldn't skin in there. I'd just bring crampons for the hike and then climb in my ski boots

Actually I saw several people skinning up. As of last weekend when I went I would estimate you could probably skin about 50% of it.

the important question is.. are there many cliffs with okay landings to send? im not gonna hike up there to NOT get rad..

I heard that they are plowing the auto road this week. That means you could drive up and ski down through the snowfields!

The landings are questionable, as an open waterfall is running off the skiers left side of the headwall.

I heard skiing the snowfields is dangerous business. Be careful.

I can embed on the updated NS for some reason

I know theres a few issues with embedding into articles right now too, not sure if it affects the forums as well.
