Gs300 letterboxing

k i have a panasonic gs300 and for some reason everytime i import it letterboxes all the shots... i thought it was because i was filming wide screen but i switched it to normal and it still letterboxes... it still looks fine it jsut takes liek a long time to letterbox... does anyone know how to fix this?

are you using imovie? if so, import the footage from ur camera, unplug it, then go immediately to file, save project. then quit imovie. go back into imovie and select the project you just saved. all your footage will be there for ediitng, minus the letterboxing

i dont have that problem at all. I use premiere pro 2.0 and have a gs300 also. Maybe you're editing it in a widescreen project.

yeah its ust like a hassle.... why does it do that?
