i personally dont like all you bastards who are ONLY into core companies like 4frnt and armada adn them. at the same time...boo at salomon for being the microsoft of the ski world. i dont like salomons image at all..big corporate that kinda thing. this is a really incoherent message

Solly actually has two team managers, one for the International team and one for the NA team. There was an interview in freeskier (I think) with Bruno Bertrand the international solly team manager. And I know that ther is some sort of North American team manager as well.

Who cares what a companies image is. Salomon had plenty of innovations as far as skis are concerned. If they have a good product you shouldn't care about the companies 'image'.

I like skogenjakes thing about the french kid. I've never skiied salomon skis, so i can't say. i just that story was funny as heck

Most likely, half of the people who talk shit about salomon probly have never owned a pair themselves. This is my second year on my 1080s and I would say that they have gone through a lot. They do not delam unless your dumb enough to run straight into a wall or something. They are also outlasting many of the 'core' companys skis that my friends have like line, 4frnt, and armada. They will chatter at high speeds sometimes but that doesnt bother me since im mostly in the park at slower speeds and overall I really like them.

I hate them because foam cores suck for big people. They are so soft and unstable.

Lets just put it this way, the snowboard team manager travels with the team all year. He is on his cell phone with them, hanging out with them, snowboarding with them, hanging at TEAM photo shoots, organizing specific ad shoots and making shit happen. As far as I can tell the ski team manager sends skis out every once in a while and goes to a few contests. Of course that could have changed recently, but I doubt it since you don't see anyone wanting to ski for them without a huge check.

I still don't understand the hate for spaceframe, and foam. I weigh 225 pounds(6'6'' tall) and ride pocket rockets. They have never even come remotely close to bothering me.

The cores go from they suck for everone, to the suck for big people, to they suck for small people because they are too stiff. Make up your mind. I'm all for core companies making their move, but why should they be given special cosideration over larger companies simply because they are core? If Salomon, K2, Rossi, Dynastar, etc pulled their funds, freeskiing would die. That's the way it goes in a small industry.

K2 is the largest outdoor sports company in the world, eclipsing all other ski companies combined... even with thier partnerships.... chew on that

 
All right everyone keeps comparing our core companies and believe they will come out like Burton. That will not happen. Burton developed in a broad marketing niche. The snowboard industry is so much larger than the twin tip industry. See anyone who wants a snowboard will buy a burton, yet skis, not everyone wants a twin tip. Burton exposed a new fresh untapped pool that Is probably at least 10x bigger than the twin tip industry.

The smart man does not know everything, rather the smart man admits when he knows nothing.
