Whats up,

My bro broke his shoulder so I'm looking for any NS'ers who would be keen for a few spring park laps.

I'll be skiing Grouse May 15 and then Whistler from May 16th-23rd.

Im tryna move out to north van after next winter.

Grouse or Seymore whats better

I'd go with grouse.

Pros:

- great park and park crew

- rope tow will be installed for 2022/23 season

- a great community of skiers and boarders

- y2play pass is cheap - goes on sale in late Feb and ride for rest of season plus the next season

Cons

- gondola

- gets mad busy during winter break and weekends during peak season (lots of tourists + Vancouverites)

Seymour is a great mountain. The park is nice but it's more of a boarder mtn. Grouse has a larger ski community imo.

My homie lives in Vic rn. He said North Van is expensive to live. Is it really that bad?? how afforadable really is it. If it is super expensive whats a good alternative as far as living near grouse or somewhere in that area

Expensive is sort of relative. Where are you coming from? What kind of rent sounds reasonable to you?

Honestly not too sure, but I think Northvan

would be similar. But Vancouvers not huge, Seymour’s and grouse is a 15 min drive difference. So you don’t have to worry too much about it.

Nevermind slap another 500 bucks onto that rent if u wanna live in North van lol

Anyone know if whistler still has parks in the summer? I know they used to but I haven't seen anything about them in years.

Although momentum is happening, I have heard that there will not be a public park :(

If you're ok with a basement suite you should be fine in North Vancouver. A quick look at CL shows some options in the 1300-1600 range. I was worried you were accustomed to paying under $1000/month

We’ll be skiing Whistler all spring!

For the homie looking to ski Seymour or Grouse. I think the Boyardee boys are right as Grouse as a bigger ski community. I personally prefer Seymour because it is a boarder mountain. Homies over there are the best and park always has mad flow. If you’re into jumps def go to grouse tho.

North Van is best for the skiing proximity as well as getting downtown or to Whis but Burnaby or Surrey might be good to look at for apartments too.

Kinda seconding this to throw a token in for Seymour. Grouse always has bigger features/jumps but the flow of the Seymour park is so damn flowy and chill. Not having to deal with the Gondola is always a huge plus since when you want to eat/smoke/whatever you can just cruise down to your car at the bottom of the lift. Both are fun and sick in their own ways!

Man u just changed my life I didn’t even realize how close burnaby and surrey are to the mountains I have so many more options now. For some reason I thought they were way farther of a drive. im dumb
