Grizzly Bear's Two Weeks

The new Sleepyhead by Passion Pit?

I swear I can't stop hearing this song everywhere. It's been on two commercials I can think of, one being in the Super Bowl tonight. I swear it was just on How I Met Your Mother last week.

It's taking over.

I heard it on Emerson College Radio over a few months ago, I hope it doesn't get the shit beaten out of it, I like this song.

honestly dude?

"its taking over"

man this album came out in may. they aren't new or anything, you're just late.

theyve already take over, this is the same as kids finding out about passion pit a week before it was used in commercials and freaking out thinking the media giants stole their indie sounds

vecktamist has been around for a long time, and two weeks isnt their best song imo. also the fact the had the freaking london symphony orchestra playing with them helps a bit too

Two weeks is old as fuuuuck. But so was sleepyhead when it blew up so maybe.

Check that ^^

every song i have liked for a long time ends up in either a car ad or a movie trailer, then becomes popular by the whole world. it's annoying. it's happened with 1901 by phoenix, wake up by arcade fire, and now two weeks by grizzly bear. one of my favorite songs too, bums me out

Considering I bought the album the week it came out...

Please show me where I said this was a new song or anything. It's just been used a lot in pop culture lately.

When did I say any of those songs were soooo "indie underground"? I didn't. I was just naming other songs that, like sleepyhead by passion pit, got big and now everyone knows about.

thehoodinternet has dope remixes of both those songs.

back that sleepyhead up- passion pit vs. juvenile

two weeks of hip hop- dead prez vs grizzly bear

Veckatimest is a pretty nice album... Yellow House was good too.

Its kinda annoying hearing it everywhere, but then again, that happens with a bunch of reasonably popular indie bands that have a pretty catchy song (Phoenix, Arcade Fire, Cymbals Eat Guitars etc.)

waaaa, good music became popular, i wanted to be the only one who listened to good music.

fucking hipsters.

no, i still listen to them all the time. it was just an observation that alot of the songs by similar indie bands are now becoming popular

Whilst i usually disagree with everything that she posts on here, i'm pretty sure she never claimed to be the first person to listen to any band.

no it's just sad when an album you've been listening to since the day it came out is put in a fucking car commercial.

get over yourself

how is that sad? you should be happy the artist is gaining popularity and profiting from their work.

you guys bitch about the same thing when it comes to NS itself - always saying how there's so many 'noobs' and 'trolls' and 'alias's' on here now and that it was much better/you liked it more before it got super popular. same thing with a band someone likes, or ANYTHING for that matter.

the point i'm trying to make is that just like most of you liked NS better before it got really popular (which led to alot of trolling and noobs, etc), alot of people like a band more before it gets really popular (which leads to overplaying it on the radio or in tv ads, etc.) it was just a comparison

Oh em geeee...My fav band like totally got popular and all these posers are now listening to them. And for some reason I can't appreciate something once it is played on the radio or on tv...I don't care that the artist I have supported all these years is getting a lot of money.

QQ more Jesus Christ.

It is equivalent to being a Saints fan for life, and then having to deal with everyone saying they love the Saints, even though they probably just started liking them when they won the superbowl/after katrina.

Untill you can sit through the whole album of theirs and say wow that was good. you dont really like grizzly bear

u mad.

I was simply suggesting that everyone became a bit of a Saints fan after Katrina... not that it made them a better team.

So damn annoying everyone saying geaux saints, or who dat, fucking bandwagoners. I don't have a problem with a song getting popular, personally i think this song sucks but thats my opinion, what's annoying is when you have a song/artist and like it then it gets popular a few months later and the trend whores come out claiming it like they've been listening to it since it came out, thats what's annoying.
