Gripwalk ISO 9523 Compatibility

I have some boots with Gripwalk ISO 9523 soles and would like to mount some pivots (probably with the cast system). From what I can tell they are not compatible because the 9532 standard needs a MNC AFD plate that can move because the soles are rubber and have to much friction to release correctly with a standard AFD.

But my boot soles have a hard plastic where the boots will contact the AFD.

So will these actually work with a binding labeled Gripwalk? Are they more like the newer Gripwalk ISO 23223 standard?

That'll work. For whatever reason Look dosen't use sliding AFDs they use a anti friction plate like the one on your soles. But 9523 GW is compatible with 23223 GW. 23223 is just the new refined and standardised norm. It's confusing and I can explain more if you want but it'll work perfectly. Also MNC refers to bindings that are compatible with 9523 fully rubber touring soles like on the K2 Dispatch along with the alpine standard and Gripwalk soles. Look dosen't make a binding like that but CAST makes a custom afd that does

Awesome thanks! After looking at the boots and seeing the sole I was hoping that would be the case when i saw the sols had plastic on them.

Another question, is that if I get the CAST system I would order the GW afd, not the 9523 one they make?

Yes order the Gripwalk afds for them to work with your boots
