Griffin vs. jester

someone correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure the post that hold the heel piece are plastic on the griffin and some sort of metal on the jesters...the jester is a bit heavier but i think its also a bit burlier

exactly. the part that holds the din spring on the jester heel is a metal cradle, and on the griffon is a composite. and the toe wings are like that too.

the jester also has a minimum 6 din. other than that they are about the same but jesters are burlier.

Yep. The Griffon is a composite material, not as weak as plastic, but not like the metal of the Jester. Obviously, the Jester is a tad bit heavier and more expensive than the Griffon. I think it has a higher DIN minimum/maximum as well, but I'm not sure.

Basically, if you feel like you need the burlier binding, go with the Jester, although the Griffon should hold up almost anybody just fine.
