Greatest story told in a song?

I don't know if it's necessarily inspirational but I love Roland the Thompson Gunner by Warren Zevon, definitely a solid story.

Also Isis by Bob Dylan is a crazy story and the song is ridiculous especially during his Rolling Thunder Review days.

I feel like Eminem gets way more credit for the concept for this song than he deserved. Of course the lyrics are unique, and amazing, but the letter concept was originally "One Love" by Nas.

wings is a great song

if you like him check you Grieves, you might like him as well. he's more relaxed when rapping but his lyrics are really deep. whereas macklemore uses a whole song to describe one concept, grieves uses individual verses to tell more of a story.

 
yes! someone who likes grieves as much as me! this kid is sick and raps about real shit. i agree that this song portrays a great story!

another one to think about is "stan" by eminem. pretty fucked up but a solid story with great details put in the lyrics.

that's cool man. i appreciate this song because i commercial fished on the high seas of the pacific ocean. any kind of sea when it gets a bit rough is a humbling and possibly terrifying experience.

This song became a lot more powerful/depressing to me when I lost a family member to a heroin overdose this fall. I just hope that a song like this, or the passing of somebody close will deter others from partaking in such a dangerous activity.
