Greatest ski movie of all time

In my opinion there is no greatest ski movie of all time, the most influential has to be Blizzard of Ahhs, but from a sheer skiing standpoint it has to be Claim.

i still watch every edit aaron husak has made weekly idk what it is about those lil edits but he’s got me so hooked

For personal reasons I’d have to say romance, I went to the first premier in Denver and that’s what made me horny for skiing. If not romance though I’d say heart of skiing.

I like the one where Criss Angel drives his car off a cliff and lands inside the helicopter cage

GNAR will always have it's spot

In terms of pure amazement at the skiing though I'm still going with few words. Watching Candide become Candide and then what he does is just the best.

That clip in Few Words where he comes up short on the Big Bertha jump gives me chills every time. Insane how he came back from that injury

As far as youtube goes east coast hardcore real stuff really stuck out to me and is to blame for most of my skiing antics.

Travelling Circus but a full length movie. Make it happen.

I think that would either be really good or be like when you read a book and the movie sucks but honestly cant really go wrong with TC. I like the longer episodes myself.

I love MSP, but I'm gonna have to say Claim isn't it, chief

My GOAT ski movies are tied for me between EDIAS and Seven Sunny Days

Keeshlife or Zootspace

Keeshlife is hands down my favorite short-movie of all time. Zootspace was really sweet, but the vibes didn’t feel as pure as what keesh threw over.

This is home (faction)

Étienne has a way of making shit look like a legit movie shit is crazy. 100% from a videography standpoint TIH takes it for me. For raw skiing, We: A Collection Of Individuals will never be topped (in my opinion). The crew was absurd and the skiing was absurd.

While many ski movies are amazing, few bring me the amount of stoke as EDIAS or TBC... it might just be a little nostalgia bias but those movies get me so stoked to ski. I also really enjoyed "after the sky falls" by the nimbus guys, gotta plan a japan trip after watching that one

Idea and Teddy Bear Crisis are certified classics, I watch them a few times a year still. Teddy Bear Crisis still has the best soundtrack in skiing IMO.

Honorable mention to Contrast by Nimbus, dope skiing, filming, soundtrack, but loses points because of the interviews.

Gotta chime in about Ski Porn and Refresh in this, Refresh is probably my most watched.

Also Idea is required viewing as the 180 into pow is dying.

Attack of La Nina and In Deep have a special place in my heart, probably just because they sparked my interest in skiing in the first place.

If I'm being honest with myself I would probably say Carnage's "Relax" or Hood Crews "Slow Your Roll" just from a vibes perspective

I watch attack of la niña to get stoked everytime a big storm is coming, such a masterpiece

I think Claim is overrated. Global Storming, the Ski Movie trilogy, Focused and Yearbook are all better imo, that was the golden age of msp

How has johnny tsunami not been mentioned yet? Sure the skiers seemed like villains but that was only at the beginning. Love won out and now skiers and boarders can ride together in peace. It should have one an oscar.

Henrik’s The Regiment is ridiculous. Watched it for the first time a couple weeks ago

I’d have to say Zootspace is my favourite though. So gnarly

My personal top 3 are (and in no particular order):

1) Sunny- one of the most stupid stacked crews ever in a movie, vibe had me feeling right too but it was also my first full length ski flick so nostalgia filter might be kinda heavy.

2) Eat the Guts- best street movie, ever made, period.

3) Finitio- The Bunch hit it so hard with this one. Imo everything from the skiing to the editing was just so A1.

honorable mention to:

- the first 5 minutes of ON3P 3

- “ :) “ - the best movie we never got:

How has no one said Eye Trip?

Also I legitimately was scared when I watched Ring the Alarm. What Tanner has done/ is doing in the pow is absolutely mental.

If you're talking just street skiing, Mutiny was a game changer and the most iconic movie of that genre.

Idea, Few Words, Hot Lunch, Refresh, Teddybear Crisis, Session 1242, Ski Movie 3, and I’m forgetting a couple for sure.

You could throw in a few more Level 1 flicks but those would be more personal choices as opposed to consensus best.

Shoutout Rage, I H8 NY, Meathead, Ple house, etc.

Just watched TBC for the first time and wasn't blown away. Music was trash.

Also recently watched IDEA for the first time and was super impressed. The switch landings into pow made me wet and the locations all look like Bob Ross paintings.

WSKI 106

Happy Dayz

Pop Yer Bottlez

First and foremost: Mind the Gap

Teddybear crisis is a classic. Session 1242 and EDIAS are tied at best of all time for me.

Zootspace is the best new movie of the past decade by far.
