Grateful Dead Concert

So I'm going to my first Grateful Dead concert tomorrow and i was wondering if any of you guys have been to one, what's it like, some advice, or if its safe to bring a little mary jane in with me.

p.s. if you dont' like the dead, GTFO
 
yea it definitely isnt the same without jerry but it should still be a good show.
im sure theres gonna be a lot of psychedelics there so mj wont be an issue id say
 
You lucky SOB. Who's doing lead vocals with Garcia being long gone? As for MJ, that's probably the only way to see them right. At the rolling stones (maybe a band with a little less drug use) concert I went to, people were puffing before the music even started and one guy even passed out before the show started. Security dragged him out and he missed the show. So don't do anything that would make you miss the music, but have some fun. - a fellow deadhead
 
tip 1- dont call them the "grateful dead", the surviving members of the band are "The Dead" they dropped the "grateful" in memory of garcia.

tip 2- Expect things/ people in the crowd to get really weird, the fan base is made up of some really interesting people.

tip 3- dont expect them to play like they did in late 60's, 70's, 80's or early 90's (whatever your favorite era is) all the members have aged quite a bit, phil is almost 70 and the rest are getting up there too although you would never know because of the energy they play with still.

Ill be headed to the albany show on friday, im exited for things to get strange.
 
where is the show your going to, greensboro? and if you bring bud just put it in your shoes along with a small pipe, they won't search your shoes, or find a female friend with big tits that will put the shit in her bra, and to the person that asked warren haynes is now lead guitar and I'm not sure who is doing most of the vocals, i would guess lesh, weir, and haynes are all going to sing some
 
yeah its in greensboro, north carolina and yea ill probably just stuff some green down in my shoe along with a little bowl and toke it up.
 
yeah Merl Saunders died in late October, he did a lot with garcia on his solo projects, they pumped out some great tunes.
 
Dig this, my girlfriend bought us 2 prime tickets for the april 26 show in Hartford as a surprise for Valentines Day. But I'm going to be in France... I'm so pissed
