Grass

So yeah...probably a thread on this but I couldnt find it in the search bar. If there is a link give it to me.

is it possible to land on some wet grass with skis on? or does it scratch them?

I'm thinking of building a box in my backyard and stuff.

i don't think it would be the grass scratching your skis.

maybe the dirt and rocks underneath the grass, but whatever.

i haven't had experience in it, but i would think that there would be some damage due to the crap on the ground, like pebbles, sticks, not being completely flat ground. etc etc. but its worth a try if you aren't using your primary skis

it wont scratch your skis, wet grass is surprisingly sticky. You will come off the box and stop. And after a few landings, you'll start to pull up the grass. You're a LOT better off spending 20 bucks and buying some astroturf or snowfence.

home depot, lowes, any carpet installation place. Or if you want to go really cheap, check the dumpsters behind carpet stores. Those places throw out tons of big high-quality scraps of astroturf or outdoor carpeting.

the wet grass on waxed skis would probably be kinda sticky, but you go ahead and try it then let me know alright...

I am confused. What do jesus and this have to do with one another? I guess if thats your thing. i hear god likes flatspins.

go to home depot or lowes and get some astroturf, or get carpet and get it all wet, or just get some shavings from an ice rink. grass will not work what-so-ever

tried the wet grass, fell flat on face, landing on concrete or pavement is better than grass. but go with the astroturf and make it nice and wet, or anytype of plastic carpet usually works good. seen that snowflex stuff they make their mountains in england of? year round skiing on that stuff, and it feels like real snow. It was a sweet experience.

if you use grass it has to be completely cleared out...no rocks sticks or ne thing....so instead i would use sum indoor outdoor carpet or turf.

^definetly, or because its time for spring cleaning, just keep an eye out along the road when your driving for stuff that people are throwing away

i did it yesterday and no its fine and if ur going on rails and boxes...do u honestly think grass is going to hurt it

Dude its a horrible idea i landed on wet grass once, and it ripped out my all my edges completly, and runied my bases for good, now i ahve to by a whole new pair of skis just because of grass

o well i dont know about wet grass but on dry its fine because i jibed eysterday and landed on dry grass and it was fine. also at the begging of this year my local ski shop at a rail jam and the landing was hay and no one said anything about the landing so im guessing that it didnt fuck anyones skis up

OMG they landed on Hay thats even worse i herd when it touches hay the whole ski just explodes man, thats insane........................im being sarcastic man this whole time
