Graphic Design-Good or bad major?

I was looking into majoring in Graphic Design but I'm not too sure whether that would be a rewarding career or not as far as salary and it being a good job.
 
you won't be making a lot of money with a degree in graphic design, but if it's what you enjoy doing go for it.
 
id recommend taking electives in graphic design/reading books on your own time, and making a focused hobby outta it. not to downplay it ( i design myself, but only as a hobby), but the market for professional graphic design is dwindling, your better off doing private contract work.

but if its what you love, go for it!
 
If you're going to work to be the best at it, of course it's a good major. But if you're just doing it because you like to do it as a hobby, do it as a hobby, not a job.
 
well, as of now, you'd be looking at starting out in the low 30s straight out of college. if that doesn't appeal to you, do something else.
 
i quit a job last year that would of paid me £100 000 tax free in 10 years so i can pursue a career in art ... im not doing it for money or fame ... im doing it because im a retard and i have a passion...but mostly the retard bit. only do it if you are 200% sure its what you want....
