Graffiti noob. need some help

so im currently just starting to use spray paint.
im fairly good at drawing my sketches up on paper but today for the first time i tried with paint.
horrible fail.
can someone point me in the right direction as far as what kind of caps to use, where to get them, etc.
oh and im just using krylon paint.

Just gonna throw the basics at you here...

Ny thins for outlines, ny fats for the fill

move your arm fast, and keep it a decent distance from the wall so it doesnt drip.

and outline first in the fill color, then fill, then outline again in the outline color.
 
haha in due time. im not gonna take anything to streets yet. right now im just painting onto a large piece of ply wood then repainting over it in white.
 
Just practice your can control first. Get some clean controlled lines and then start to do your outlines. Get some new caps too, that will help you to make cleaner lines.
 
You're dripping because you're using Krylon.

Montana Gold is where it's at.

AMG gave some good tips. Just don't go slow, and don't get too close.
 
I'd invest in some Rusto before buying Montana, you can rack it easily at the bigger chains. As for caps, just experiment with everything, even stock caps.
 
if you read some stuff on bombingscience, you'll learn alot.

Also, to stop dripping (without buying montana) flip the can upside down and let some pressure out. this makes it spray slower, which means less paint is coming out at once. but i guarantee theres like 100 other prople asking the same questions you are on bombingscince, so check that out.
 
thats pretty much all you need to know if you are just doing some throw. there is all kinds of shit you can do if you get your caps right...
