Grabbing/Sticky Homemade Flat Bar

I made a flat bar in the summer for a backyard setup once there was snow. It is a wooden frame with a 1/8 inch thick, flat steel coping glued on. I don't know exactly what kind of steel it is (galvinized, stainless, ect) but it is grabbing and sticky when slid. The flat surface of the rail is not grabbing, only the edges. Once the skis hit the rail, they might slide a bit, then the skis edges dig in and shave the edge of the rail. Once all speed is lost the ski edge catches (my edges are dull), and a mark/ding is left on the ski edge and the rail edge. I've tried sanding, filing, waxing, and oil nothing seems to help it just keeps happening. Anyone have this happen before? Is the metal too soft? too thin? wrong type metal? or am I just fucked?

Any help would be appreciated.

Just for the record, i've searchbared and requested an invite to the build a jib, just wondering if anyone has any help for now, thanks.

most likly you're going to have to get a higher grade metal. if you get soft steel or aluminum it'll stick alot. find a metal shop around you and get the hardest you can get.

for our backyard set up this year we made an long ass box, and covered it with that slippery shit that bathtubs are made of. slides soooo fucking good. i would advise getting that stuff.

if you have gone through every slippery substance, than theres nothing you can do
