lemme know what you all think

i love that cropped fisheye look.

i don't know if it was just my screen, but the snow looked blown out a lot of the time. (definitely hard to film in that lighting though).

Unless the song/title were jokes, they were dumb. I just didnt like the song at all, the stupid lyrics drove me nuts.

Seemed like your glidecam wasn't balances, it was bouncing around a bit but im guessing maybe it was the light ass gh2?

Other than that, nothing really stuck out to me, it was somewhat cookie cutter. I like your saga edit alot more.

Title was a joke. I enjoy that song haha. There were times in the day when the glidecam wasn't balanced at all, it was because when piling the QR plate on, I didn't screw it tight enough. Definitely see how this could be considered cookie cutter, didn't do anything different than what I usually do in edit.

I thought the song was dope, I love that song. It's on my ski playlist. the footy didn't totally fit with the music, but I feel like the point was to play with the gh2, so that worked for me.

Footage looked good. Seems like the gh2 was hard to use on a glidecam.

On another note -

Can we come up with a really apparently derogatory term for what happened at 1:49?

I am so sick of people, skis totally flatbase on the snow sliding around switch, then hopping on a rail, and calling it a butter. It's not a butter unless the part of the ski under your bindings is off the snow because your tips or tails are flexed. It's worse than tindys.

Word and word. Bummer about the glidecam, it happens, i know you werent trying to make a perfect edit. That kind of ties into how the edit wasn't really anything special in my eyes, ive seen you make way better ones including, like I said, that most recent saga one, IMO. Take it how you want, just trying to give you some feedback.

I think we could call it funky butter, vince prevost was doing these but sideway to get on a rail an thats how he called it

i agree with the guy who said the snow looked a little blown out some of the time, it seemed there was a wee bit too much contrast at times. otherwise solid stuff, i love the cropped fisheye look as well

I think it's kinda cool and goofy when people intentionally flatbase sideways and then hop onto a rail, it's just lame when people slide around backwards like a goomba and then hop on switch and call it a butter.... calling it a funky butter still denotes it's some sort of butter.

I'm sure we can find something that will offend people when we call them out for it, we're the creative part of NS.

ALl the sunny shots looked good Blatt, but it looked like there was a little too much contrast. How much color correction / grading were you doing and what program were you using?

Yeah I added a bit of contrast, thought it would be fun to get that archetypical contrasty pc look. I used looks and added contrast (via curves), saturation, and warm/cool b/c the image was too blue

Yea, that makes sense. I thought it worked well in some spots and not as much in others, otherwise. I liked that it was contrasty and saturated, very over the low contrast low saturation look. Just so long as we don't cross the boundary into where Vital films edits were like 2 years ago.

On the first shot, did you purposely not cut it? I noticed you kinda panned to the right for a while then cut it.
