Got Full Tilts, please help

Recently got my first pair of Full Tilts, Drop Kicks with 6 flex tongues. It’s a pefect size, no spare room in liners, but they have been killing me in shins area when I try to ollie, nose press or just hit a small kicker. They haven’t been molded, but somehow they deformed in the area where tongue goes over the liner as you can see in the pictures, and there is a little bit of room in the shin area no matter how hard I tighten them up(as if the liners can't be fully sealed over my shins )... Is that usual for them to have a deformity like this, or I am just an idiot who doesn't know how to use Full Tilts? :V

Should molding them maybe help? I didn't do it so far since they fit me really well besides the mentioned problem that I haven't discovered untill I tried them in the slopes.

I previously had Salomon quest access 80, but I had some wiggle room in the heel area, so I changed them for these that are definitely a good fit except the shin area, but I think that is just due to mentioned deformity... How much of a flex difference is between these 2 boots? Do I just need to get used to a stiffer boot? Although 20 flex index shoudn't be that big of a deal since I figure these are around 100ish flex, or am I wrong?

You won't know until you try. Get them heat molded, potentially order a stiffer tongue, smaller cables (tighter fit), and look into a footbed (you'll thank me). Also, you can get slip-ins to fill the calf if you need a tighter fit after the above mentioned.

There is definitely a difference from 80 to 100. but you,re better off in a 100. Id say try to get used to it. AS for full tilts, shin bang has been their trademark for quite some time.

Get outa here son

i got really bad shin bang in my FT when i first got them but then i pulled the strap up above the plastic front piece and havent gotten it since

If you have skinny calves, like me, you'll need to get some shit to fill in that space. Full tilts and Dalbellos are made for people with wider calves. My advice would be to go to a "racing" bootfitter, and see what they recommend. Boot fitting is a fucking science, and the prices that these guys charge are well worth it when you end up spending 6+ hours, 3+ days a week, in your boots.

From my experience people either love fulltilts or hate them. I had those same dropkicks and they were not for me. My calves hurt like a bitch and the buckles kept breaking

The size of your leg is gonna play a big part. For me it just took a while to find the sweet spot on my cables and my straps.

If your getting shin bang it could be the boots aren't flexing properly. It was an issue I had and Full Tilts are bad for it, as you flex you only move the tongue not the full boot which creates movement. A booster strap and stiffer tongue will help but if it is a persistent problem after that new boots will be the cure.

As far it goes with the liner happens with the Full Tilt boots due to the tongue.

the tongues actually help with shin bang, he just doesn't have his boots tight enough around the calf and shin

True but really depends on the person as well everyone moves boots in different ways some suit some dont, Full Tilts might just not work. JohnnyDope did say they were fairly tight.

Good thing to look at while wearing them will be to see if the back flexes with the rest of the boot.

Hope this helps
