46GB of disk space required for optional content:
- 9GB for DVD Studio Pro content
- 7GB for Motion templates
- 22GB for audio content
- 8GB for LiveFonts
I don't have 46 GB on my hard disk. Do I need it?

Oh, and will it work on my mac:
Model Name: MacBook Model Identifier: MacBook4,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 800 MHz
Graphics: Chipset Model: GMA X3100 Type: Display Bus: Built-In VRAM (Total): 144 MB Vendor: Intel (0x8086) Device ID: 0x2a02 Revision ID: 0x0003
Or should I just give up and stick with Adobe Prem Pro (as much as I don't like it)

30gig
I am thinking I might put the extra bits onto an external hard drive - you can do that I believe?
What do you think about my mac spec - is it good enough?

honestly dude, final cut does not run very well on laptops.

unless you have a brand new macbook pro, or just a completely upgraded laptop than it will.

i have one of the black macbooks, i have 4 GB ram, faster processor and 500BG HD and it still "likes attention" if you will.

also, the resolution (especially color) doesn't really do your footage justice, thats why i ended up buying an external monitor to go along with it.

it's a great set of programs, but it's really built for desktops, or larger laptops (power and screen res).

I have a 2007 Macbook pro, and it runs Final Cut Studio just fine. I basically had to go through and delete/back up a ton of files. You'd be surprised at the kind of crap you can accumulate on your computer. Just go through and dump all of your movies and photos on to an external HD. Also check your music folder for doubles. Itunes is really bad about that, I went through and found I had doubles of literally hundreds of albums, some of them took up over 100MB. Spend an hour or two deleting shit, and you'll have 46GB free in no time.

haha, yeah I did all that! Except for photos which takes up 25 gig, so that would help i guess.
Is it possible to re-locate your iphoto folder do you know?
