Are they worth it? Is the video quality high or is it worth it to purchase some different typeof camera? I am going to be filming all season so I want something with a great picture but affordable.

I really know nothing about cameras so any help will be appreciated
 
If you are thinking of getting one, definitively get the Hero 2. Its a lot better then the original Hero . For the price, i think they are worth it. Also, they are super durable and great to have in the snow.
 
Contour roam is $100 cheaper. The quality is a little lower but if money's an issue it's worth it.
 
The GoPro is awesome i got the hero 2 and also the 960 hero i use em for skiing and on my dirtbike and scuba diving and they work great!

but honestly dont get the hd hero 2 if your only going to use it for fast motion stuff so like skiing or dirt bikes or in your car cause if u do that you gotta switch it to 720p or else it gets all blurry kinda and it looks like shit id just got with the 960 hero if u are only using it for skiing and stuff like that its a lot cheaper and it still works great!
