Gopro or contour?

wondering which camera i should buy a gopro or a contour i have $400 to spend

I personally don't like gopro's because they charge crazy amounts of money for additional equipment, the whole company is a scam and they are totally overpriced for a small camera. I think contour has much better quality and ease to use. I also think contours have a better battery.

Remote control, LCD view screen, the ability to change camera settings for exposure, rotating camera lens.

huge fan of the contour (use the contour +).

the only thing i miss about my go pro was the chest strap. other than that, the contour looks better, you know when it's recording, and i'm a huge fan of the rotating lens to level the image.

Meh. Whichever's cheaper and has the attachments you'll use more. It's pretty 6 of one half a dozen of the other.

As a skiing-specific cam I prefer the contour because it doesn't have to be stuck on the top of your head and has gps, which I really like for embedding into videos. However, the gopro is more versitile as far as what sports you can use it with, as I've found it much easier to use for wakeboarding because its easier to chest mount

If you're seriously interested in filming, then just save a little long and get a real quality camera. It'll be worth it in the end
