GoPro LCD Screen finally released for $80!

fuck yeah this is awesome to know. i was hoping theyd do something like this and not just obsolete the old cams with a new model

Not really a con, its 80 bucks for add on casing and LCD screen. pretty legit price.

this'll make filming with it in your hand much easier and legit. i wonder if you can review footy on it or just see what is being filmed because sometimes you don't gts and gotta go again.

yeah, i feel like the price is pretty damn reasonable for what they give you. it's far more convenient and profitable for them to produce and LCD add on as opposed to making a whole new camera.

this has made the GoPro just a litle bit more awesome

i wouldnt buy it tho, i always have my gopro in the waterproof housing and when its not, its plugged into my comp, or the files are dumped already and i have a nice 50 inch display to view them. so its rly not on my list

i was just answering someones question, he was wondering if you could go back and look at previous runs etc. no reason to be a dick.

yes! this is fucking amazing. I am very very tempted to buy a go pro now, the only reason i held off was because there was no LCD.$80 bucks is not bad at all.

you do realize that one of its main uses is the ability to see what you're shooting, right?
you can still have it in the case when the LCD is attached..

Thats sweet! I like how it comes with the housing extension thing. I didnt think ou'd be able to use the LCD and still have it waterproof. Definately gonna pick one of these up in the near future.

What the fuck are you talking about? Did you even look at the link? It clearly shows an extendable waterproof case. And this is so you can see what your shooting while your shooting it.

This was my concern. One of my favorite things about the gopro is the battery life is nearly infinite.

not that bad of a deal, since after all LCD screens are pretty damn expensive to manufacture, and you get an extra casing and all that as well.

Here too. I went on vacation with my go-pro, took tons of video, and picture, and never had to recharge the camera once in a week, and we were using it daily!

Watch the battery last for 2 minutes. Plus You don't really need a screen when you have a 150 degree fisheye or something on there? you would have to be insanely drunk to miss a shot.

not hating, but i dont think its really necessary.

Defently props to go pro for keeping so much popularity and growth to 1 product company.

I agree i cant imagine really using it. The only time i film with a go pro is either a helmet mount(no point in having a lcd)...or follow cams in the park which again its useless because im not gonna be looking down at the screen while skiing. 80 bucks for watching a clip before i get home isnt worth it. If go pro cant make a zoom option with an lcd screen the average person would be set for life.

Although, us people who REALLY use it as a helmet cam, do you realize how many people bought that camera simply for the fact that it takes 5megapixels pictures plus has fullHD video, people take these camera on vacation, use it has everyday camera. It's not ONLY a rider camera. You would be amazed at how many people had these camera while I was on vacation. Plus they are waterproof to 60m. It's pretty much the perfect camera with the LCD add-on.

nah you only need pratice and experience. You'll get better and better after watching your shots. You'll learn by yourself

it'd be quite sick, i go alpine climbing in summer quite often, this means i'm usually 2weeks without a pc/electricity, so having a way of reviewing my vids/photos would be a massive ++
nothing more rewarding to end a day of hard climbing with viewing the sick shots you made around a fire/stove with friends....
last year i just shot a whole vacation and only saw the result once i got home ....quite exciting but having an LCD would definately be better ...

it said in a gizmodo article posted on here a little while ago, 30 to 40 percent decrease in battery life.
