Gopro Hero 3 White

About a year ago I bought a gopro hero 3 white mainly because I didn't know anything and it was cheaper but I'm interested in making a few edits and the quality of the video from my gopro is a little disappointing. One of my questions is can I learn how to edit the footage to make it look somewhat decent or do I really need to buy a new one? My last question that I can remember is what would be one of the best (is the word resolution?)settings? Sorry if this seems stupid I just don't know anything about cameras.

There's not much you can do to get higher quality. When buying GoPros, they come in 3 options (black, silver, white) I would say only get black or silver. The white is just a cheaped out newer version of it. You mainly want pay attention to resolution. 4K right now doesnt matter so don't both with that. Look for the 1080p setting which is what you should be shooting at for the best out come for video due to it's high frame rate. I would say keep what you have right now and make 2-3 videos just for you and your friends to watch and maybe post them and see how it goes.

Thanks. I am able to get my gopro replaced under warranty because of an issue with it so could I possibly sell it somewhere and put that money towards the silver edition? I'm in need of new skis next year so I need to be a little wise with my money.
