GoPro Goes Pro Where No GoPro Has Gone Pro Before

Uhm its been done before, and posted on NS, and the other one was way better.. someone find it.

that's awesome, may be a dumb question, but how did it survive the fall, and how did they find the camera after?

The GPS was an iphone, the iphone battery died just before it hit the ground due to it succumbing from cold but its last location (they had it in real time) and a large LED light attached to it helped the father and son find it

Uhhhhhh......

Gaiz do you not see? THEY JUST SENT A FUCKING I PHONE INTO SPACE!!!

THOSE THINGS COST LIKE A ZILLION DOLLARS!!!!

nah that was a homemade blimp type thing. this is a weather balloon they send those up with equipment that can track weather details and whatnot.

wait, what that's just a normal gopro?? wow, how much do you think that whole set-up costs not including electronics?

I wonder if thats legal, what if the parachute had not worked it fell at its terminal velocity and killed someone.

i havent watched this in a while, and im not going to watch it again

but does it even say that it is a go pro? i thought it was just some random camera

in his responses on the vimeo page he says it was a GoPro HD

as for legality and such, he also goes on to say that he had to contact the FAA among other government folks to let them know when he was launching and what he was planning because it had to meet a certain weather balloon spec.
