hey i need a cheap easy way to edit my gopro film so i can make a promo if anyone has any ideas or what they use shoot them over thanks.

^the newer imovie's suck. go with Imovie HD (version 6 I think)

the new imovie fucks my quality. is there a way to upload it at higher resolution. There is a clear difference between watching the gopro mp4 files and watching the clips once I have uploaded to iMovie

GoPro as with every camera doesn't require a specific editing software.

It's likely that your computer came with some type of video editor. IF not you could download anything from iMovie to Sony Vegas

I use Premiere CS5, just use torrents if you cant afford it.

Premiere Pro CS5. Complicated at first but watch the tutorials and it's easy. Free ones at creativecow.net

on mac honestly newest imovie. compatible very well with mp4's and compatible with the 60fps unlike the old imovies
FCE Sucks because its uncompatible with MP4 so you have to convert and render a lot.
If you're experienced you still might want to use FCE though

On my PC I use MPEG stream => http://www.squared5.com/ for pre-editing(trimming and converting) my gopro footage before importing into premier. For a cheap & easy solution Windows Movie Maker Live can also edit HD footage.
