I probably should check to see threads on the subject but I already started writing so here it goes:
-Just got a GoPro...like every other ns kid-Got some test footage-Apparently .mp4 is an uneditable format for Final Cut Express-Converted it to .mov-Footage can now be used to edit...but it doesn't want to render...
What the balls do I do? Not super stoked on this conundrum, pretty much the complete opposite of stoked, naw'm sayen brah.

download mpeg streamclip from the internet, follow instructions to convert using the apple intermediate codec, 100% qual, unscaled, leave framerate blank, select in and out points for each clip. Sequence settings in final cut express should match these settings.

Thanks man, but I tried exactly that, the footage still just won't render at all, the render window doesn't even show up.

Before i think of getting it, will Final Cut Pro work with Go Pro mp4 footage?Or do i have to do the whole streamclip thing before?

Its old (PowerBookG4) but the thing has never had problems with Final Cut before and never had any trouble editing in the past, except minor run ins here and there which is pretty normal for any computer I'd say.
and @followcam, as far as I know to edit mp4 footage you need to convert it to something else no matter what. Its apparently an uneditable format.

it works fine with Final Cut Pro. if you import the clips with iMovie first, you can use the clips in FCP.

im from norway and my english sucks.
