GoPro/DSLR Color Grading Workflow Tutorial here

Hey guys, finished a basic color grading tutorial inside Final Cut. The same basics and what not can be applied to Premiere as well. This is the workflow that GoPro uses for all of their videos online.

you should have mentioned the eye dropper tool and using to keep continuity between shots. Its great and easy to use with snow to make sure each clip looks the same.

another tip for those who this is new to: do NOT over-crush your blacks. it may look cool to you but the final product looks like crap.

abe, you probably know how to do this but for anybody else, an easier way to keep the whites continuous between shots is to click the eye dropper tool next to the whites color wheel, and then click on the snow in the shot. this will basically auto white balance each shot and you don't have to do a little guess work using the color wheel.

Yeah that tool works well most of the time, but sometimes you'll get funky colors in your overall image if you rely on that to 'know' what the right adjustments are. I like going by eye, but you're right the eyedropper can be an easy way to quickly get stuff adjusted

To get various scopes, go to the source monitor (double click the clip you want to select in your timeline), and then underneath the screen where the video plays, there are various tools kind of. Look for the one that looks like three inter connected circles, and click on it. It should give you various "scope" options, like waveform, video scope etc!
