Google chromecast review before i purchase

Is it similar to like Apple TV or something? If so, I gotta give it to Apple TV simply for the Airplay function.

I have it! It's pretty cool actually. My only complaint is that episodes on netflix don't auto play with chrome cast yet. Other than that it's awesome.

I had it for a while it was cool but I just didn't use it enough. It worked well for what it was though, I liked that it worked through the HDMI port.

I got one, after fiddling with it for the first week it's back in it's box and will be gifted to a friend, it's just frustrating to use after the Apple TV since that works flawless, also I can use the Apple TV stand alone, without any mobile device near me.

The Chromecast is definitely is not a bad product especially not for the price, but if you have Apple devices just pay more for the Apple TV, if you have android and want a streaming box get a Roku.

So far I've had Apple TV and Amazon Fire. I returned Amazon fire and we kept the Apple TV.

Apple TV is amazing if you have apple devices, it hasn't had any updates or anything since release so its probably due for one soon. If I was in the market to buy one I would wait or do some research to find out if they will be coming out with a newer version.

I got rid of my iphone and now have andriod, is Ruku good? Or should I just get apple TV anyway?

Roku 2. It has a headphone Jack in the remote so you can listen to your shows late and not wake peeps up.

I have a Chromecast and I love it. You get what you pay for. I think Apple TV costs around $99 right?

I got my Chromecast at $35 and it does everything I need it to. It streams Netflix, Hulu and movies I torrent download all onto my TV screen. Occasionally when I stream from a web browser there is a lag in sound ( probably 1 % of the time)

I think someone said it in here, one annoying feature is that Netflix doesn't autoload the next episode, BUT Hulu does, so take the good with the bad I suppose?

I'm not too familiar with the setup/ takedown of Apple TV but the thing I like about my Chromecast is I can easily unplug it from my living room TV and bring it into my bedroom and simply plug it into the TV, very easy for traveling. I have often brought it over to my friends or parents house, it travels really really well.

The one thing that bothers me and I completely understand it, is that you can't play ITunes shows or movies on it. I get it, its competition.

If I had the $100 dollars and I had the choice between Apple TV and Chromecast, I'd probably go with Chromecast again, due to superb playback quality and the ease of traveling with it ( room to room or outside the house)

It's great if you have a strong wireless connection. My house doesn't have good enough internet/my tv isn't placed well enough to give smooth playback. Just something to keep in mind

It is nothing too fancy but well worth the $35 it costs. I mainly use it to play youtube from my phone to my TV. It is cool if your buddy is sitting with you and you have some youtube video to show him. You can just pull it up on your phone and it automatically comes up on your TV.

For $35 you really can't go wrong.

We have it-- got it for Christmas, but for some reason have never used it. I think it was because we tried, and since we steal internet from our neighbors we were SOL. We have since moved, though, and are getting cable/internet installed today so we should be able to use it now.
