Alright, I've been throwing around the idea of making a personal site. Just to have some photoshop shit and pictures, video, what not. The main problem I'm having is finding a decent affordable webhost. I'm looking for something with a gig or so of space, a decent amount of bandwith (nothing major), and ftp access. It would be best if I could pay yearly, instead of by month. And Cheap domain fee and little to no setup fee would be nice. I don't want to pay that much, since it's out've my pocket, with no real money being generated by it. It's just something for me to have and for my friends. Can anyone help me? I'd really really appreciate it. And also, if anyone has a site, with a ton of space, and wouldnt mind giving me a little. Hit me up. If you could get another domain, or even a subdomain, I'd be willing to pay for your space. Thanks alot.

why dont you make your computer a server and just buy a domain name.

you should get a cable or dsl otherwise it will take FOREVER to upload shit to the server. I bought a domain name through www.namesecure.com and www.enom.com both are pretty sweet. I lie enom better, but they are more money. For hosting, don't always go with the cheapest because they may go down a lot more if they are a cheap start up company. I made that mistake once and it was torture not being able to access my site.

 
I'm pretty used to the long upload times. I'm patient. It's just finding a good host. Anyone else?

Geocities works well if you want to make a basic site but you need to sign up to Yahoo e-mail. Its all free tho so i would check it out.

Geocities isnt enough space. And they also have popups and all that jazz.
