Good ski areas near Rhode Island?

It being (just about) April of my Junior year, I have started looking at colleges. My absolute, heart-set-on-it favorite (though I'm fully prepared to be rejected) is Brown University. Now, I'm not going to talk about my academics or anything like that, this thread is not about whether or not I can get in. Leave that to me. But hypothetically, supposing I do end up going there, what good ski areas are anywhere near that area?
The other schools I've seen (in Vermont, New Hampshire—Dartmouth is just under 10 miles from Whaleback...I almost jizzed my pants when I heard that—, etc.) are an hour or less from good skiing, but I don't think that is the case for a school in Rhode Island. Does anyone know of any areas that I'm forgetting to look up?
The closest I've seen is Gunstock, a bit under 200 miles from campus. Yikes.
 
brown is about an hour from wachusett, the best ski area in mass. it has a decent park and is much bigger than whaleback.
 
other than some of the mountains in Mass, southern VT is your best bet. or maybe even NH but your still looking at a couple hour drive for one of those.

but coming from LI anything is better than the 4 hours it takes to get to VT! i know all about it.
