I may or may not have emailed the Denver Post with a link to his instagram. Lots of other people did that too, he definately was gonna get identified. I really think Lesh is a dickhead. Wasn't looking to get him in trouble with the law, just thought he needed to get called out for his shit

Yes, I am passionate about the "fragile tundra" as are millions of Americans that cherish public lands. Both his fun day out on Independence Pass and his joyride through Keystone happened on public lands. I don't like when people abuse the amazing privilege public land affords us because they are trying to promote their shit outerwear company. Especially during a massive pandemic when billions of people across the world have stepped up to protect public health and Lesh goes "fuck it, I'm gonna do some seriously whacked out PR stunt because it causes a stir." He's essentially a troll. Some people are going to mistake Lesh's giant ego and tendency to do whatever he wants for "hustle". That is not hustle and is more characteristic a spoiled preteen with daddy issues.

David Lesh is an attention whoring douche of a man. It is not that hard to understand. He also reps Colorado pretty hard while doing a bunch of reckless and illegal stuff for various "pr stunts". He makes the whole ski scene look bad too. The dude is insufferable, take your stupid fucking failed business somewhere else. Viritika sells just enough Made-in-China jackets to support the idiotic lifestyle of a single jackass.
 
I have seen people riding up mountains on personal sleds when the ski resorts closed before, just no one dumb enough to instagram photos of it once their done.

Now Vail has a choice.

Don’t press charges and let every sled head in Colorado think they can get away with driving a personal snowmobile on the ski resort that still has jumps up.

Or charge the guy who posted the photographic evidence of himself riding a closed ski resort.

Some were pretty lazy about it. At Crested Butte all they did was push a bit of snow somewhat in front of the lips of the jumps and rails, but some of the piles were so far away you could carve in from the side with plenty of speed, or just grab a shovel and cut an opening. This is all just in theory, of course...

There was a group riding sleds inbounds at Crested Butte the week after they had to close the resort, but they were only riding on the cat tracks that patrol uses for sleds anyway and were pretty nice and courteous to the people skinning. I wouldn't do it and I sure as hell wouldn't post about it (if you do that, you should not be at all surprised about getting in trouble). But I can't say I wasn't jealous that they were getting dozens of sled laps on the Headwall on a 2' pow day while everyone else was struggling to skin up and get one.

Honestly I could care less about him snowmobiling on the resort though. He wasn't destroying anything to my knowledge....can someone explain the big deal on that one?
