Good Headphones? +K

I have finally come to my senses that it is now time to ditch $15 earbuds, and maybe try some fairly premium headphones. I tried the searchbar, but found nothing. So Newschoolers could you please recommend me some good, preferably "stylish' headphones int he under $200 range?

these. i wanna say they're 75ish. quality sound. deep bass. i think minus 15db noise cancellation. very good frequency response. comes with different size ear fittings. a case.

you can spend another 20 bucks and get the ones with the phone compatible button thing if you want.

but hands down, the best ear buds for the price. i work with audio engineers that love these headphones.

check out sony or bose, idk about being 'stylish' but they sound way better than any 'stylish' headphones like sk's or beats imo. Besides do you really care That much about what people think that you think having 'stylish' headphones will help with?

no highs no lows, must be bose.

you're just paying for the name.

bose does well in certain areas.. but headphones are meh, and you're just paying for the name.

The lower end Beats by Dr. Dre such as the Solos are pretty nice. Great quality and pretty comfy. You kinda look like a douche wearing them since every rich 12 year-old owns a pair but a great headphone, nonetheless.

Also I found a pair that I have been reading great reviews on. The Sennheiser HD555 seems like a pretty legit earmuff that was rated pretty high this year. They look like robots though, which isn't really what I like.

If you want to go a little cheaper, these are pretty solid looking and have pretty good sound quality as well. You can pick up the Grado Pretige SR-60i for under $100.

I personally like the Dre's sound quality, I can agree with you that SC's are a fad and have terrible quality of sound and overall construction. I would never spend $400 on a pair of headphones which is why I think the upper end Dre's are complete garbage, but if you're willing to drop around $200, the lower end Dre's are still a pretty good headphone.

theres no doubt they are good. just wildly overpriced. so thats why people say theyre shit. dollar store headphones are shit but for a dollar theyre fine, and identical to the 20 dollar skullcandies. either way, dont get beats unless price isnt a factor in any way

Agree and disagree. Beats as well as Bose are waay to overpriced. But you definitely get what you pay for (to and extent). If you go and buy the $20 Skullcandy's at the store, you're not going to get the same quality as a higher end headphone. When you can go to a place and listen side by side, the difference is unreal. But like said before, idk why anyone would want to spend $400 for a decal that says DRE or BOSE on the side.

Beat by Dr. Dre Solo sound incredibly small and flat, they lack clarity and detail and should be priced at somewhere around 50 bucks or less.

For around 200 bucks these are the best sounding headsets you are ever going to find:

Sennheiser HD25-1 II

They might not look very stylish but they beat almost anything when it comes to the quality of the sound they produce.

If build quality, comfort, isolation and stylish looks are your concern and you are willing to spend a bit more get the:

Bowers & Wilkins P5[/b]

bowers-wilkins-p5-mobile-headphones.jpg
The build quality is second to none on these, super soft New-Sealand sheepskin leather covers almost everything and aluminum protects the rests, these are also very light but feel extremely solid and well built. Sound quality is a bit worse then the HD25 but it has very natural unoffensive and warm sound that especially comes to it's own when listening to classical music.

Anyone know about these?

I know Skullcandy's reputation isn't the best, but these didn't look too bad with a good price

OP what do you want to use it for? Headphones are like shoes. They have different purposes, but yes you can walk around town with rock climbing shoes

I have them, don't get them. Bass is essentially nonexistant and the left side stopped working for me after 2 months of very light usage. The only good thing about them is that they're really comfy.

These have the best acoustics I have ever heard for headphones $100 or less. They have a great full sound. The only downside for some people would be that they aren't noise canceling at all.

If you get ear buds, whatever you purchase make sure you get a pair of these http://www.complyfoam.com/ to go with them. These things fit better, stay in better, and noise cancel better than other ear bud tips I've ever used. They take any decent set of buds and automatically make them way better, seriously can't say enough about these things.

i love how when a headphone thread comes around, suddenly NS has like 20 professional sound engineers come out of the woodwork to offer their official opinions haha

i have these....

Polk audio ultrafit 3000

they sounds good, i'm not pro at reviewing headphones but they sound great to me and they're made for athletic pursuits. sweat resistant, multiple tips and such to accommodate your ear canal size and different length cords which is nice. also the ear pieces can be formed around your ear to really hold on tight. they come in white also i think.

about 70-80 bucks.

Koss Porta Pros:

Legendary headphones introduced in 1984 and still being sold practically unchanged. Most likely the best sound quality to cost ratio in the market. They do look a bit unusual but I consider it a pro not a con. I love them.

They are under 50 bucks.

I know we all hate skullcandys, and like everyone else, pretty much all of mine have sucked... but 10 months ago or so i got some skullcandy full metal jackets for about 15 bucks. they look fresh, they havent broken, and they actually sound pretty good. so maybe i just got lucky and happened to get a pair that lasts, but theyre decent, and for 15 its a dope deal

So i have finally decided to get a ´´good´´ pair of headphones. I have heard good thinks about soul sl300 and beats studio. I´m also liking sennheisers products, so if you have any experiences of good headphones under 300$ i would be glad to hear

Look up in this thread about my other post.

Sennheiser HD25-1 for sheer amazing audio quality.

B&W P5 for insane build quality and looks with good quality audio.

AND DON'T GET BEATS.

Seriously.

I use both a pair of Aiaiai TMA-1 and a pair of Klipsch S4. Both are sounding great! You should probably try before you buy, because sound is a very induvidual thing. You could atleast head to the head-fi.org forums. They really, really know this stuff better than a skiing forum filled with 12 year olds who think skullcandy icons is the ideal headphone.

Fuck beats. seriousley check out the phillips o'neill the stretch headphones. they are way better than beats are about 60 dollars. they are also made for skiing and are super tough and steezy

the bass on these suck. skullcandies beat so much harder and are so much louder than these.

i must admit that the sound quality is phenomenal on these. however, unless you're an audio engineer, they're just not worth it imo.

came here to post this. if you break em, youll get a new pair from the store. Every time. They're great! Keep your receipt

sennheiser HD 280 Pro

great passive noise dampening, good bass, and accurate sound reproduction

and they're only like $75

The only good model of skullcandies are the titans, and i think they completely remade their technology. But Titans are a pretty good pair of headphones for the price,25$. Get klipsch or Audio Technicas though.

How the fuck has nobody mentioned SURE?

I think they're better than bose.

They're expensive as all hell but JEEEEEEEEEEZUS they kill it.

Their dj headphones are the ones I own for traveling for work or long car trips/ski trips.

these are literally the best deal you can get for headphones. KRK 8400. As good or better then Sennheisers, etc. I know professionals that use these. If you look on headphone forum and such, these are considered a great deal at only $129. I have them, and when I hand them to kids with Beats they are like how much did these cost? and when I say $129, their jaw drops cause they are better quality than the shitty beats.
