Good Deal? (HV30)

So, a friend of a friend is selling his relatively new HV30, which he got brand new near the end of January, and the camera is still in new condition. He's selling it with a Century fisheye lens, a case, a 3 hour battery, and a handle for $675-&715 (Canadian). I'm asking to see if buying it would be the right decision based on the amount he's selling it for, or if you guys have any other suggestions.

thats a pretty good deal i guess.

i payed 450 for mine refurbished. The handle does not add value(you can make one for like 5 bucks) so i guess if thats a great lens, and a super nice battery then go for it.

Will you be getting a warranty? If you look around the web, you can probably find a refurb one for 500-600 bucks or so.

any more questions.....feel free to ask.

(sorry if that made no sense, im full of painkillers right now)

pretty good deal.

it's also nice that you're buying from someone you know personally. that way you know how they treat their things.

thats a pretty damn good deal. plus if you found elsewear cheaper, theres still shipping and other stuff so its deffs a good deal, especially from a friend

Yeah pretty good deal, the lens, if it is 37mm is probably $350 if it has no scratches. If it is a 43mm then thats like $415 and the camera is $550-600 maybe $500 on an auction on ebay. Battery and other stuff has no value, I got my hv30 battery for $5.00 from Hong Kong with free shipping lasts 5 hours. You also get that reassurance that you won't be scammmed online since it's your friend. Pretty good deal ask if he got a warranty because you can switch that to your name if he does.

Alright thanks everyone, so if he has the receipt/warranty papers, the warranty can be transferred over?

Yeah, I bought mine used from a guy who bought the four year extended warrenty and he just called best buy ( where he bought it from) and asked and they got it changed to my name. Shouldn't be a problem at all.

That's a relief! I was kinda worried that I wouldn't be able to switch it. Is there anything else you need for warranty other than the receipt? I'm asking him if he has it but I'm not sure if he does, and I don't know if I should buy it if he does. Keep in mind it's my friend's friend so I don't actually know him personally.

If he bought the extended warranty he should have another piece of paper for it. If he bought it at the store they have it on record so you can just go there and get it switched. Yeah just check everything out like the lens, make sure it isn't chipped or scratched. If he doesn't have the warranty don't offer as much money.

this.

i got my hv30 for 450 refurbed aswell. i would say go for it only because of the fisheye your getting with it. like akrieg said, the handle you can make yourself. i made mine for legit 4 dollars.

Alright, so if can get the warranty, I think I'll go for it and offer $675, or should I maybe try to go lower? If I can't get the warranty, what would be a reasonable price to offer? I don't even know if I should buy it if he can't find the receipt and warranty papers.
Also where's a good place/site to get refurbished ones for cheap?
