Good computer build?

This is rarely the case, in britain anyway, Might be different if you're getting top of the line, like whatevers above i7 extreme. But if you know how to look for deals you'll do much better than buying parts which have a very similar value all over the internet.

^not true at all. The prebuilt systems may seem good value, but they save money on important aspects of the build like the PSU. This is something you certainly do not want to skimp on.

You will always be able to get a better build cheaper if you are willing to put the slight effort into learning how to build it yourself.

Are you just trying to stay under a certain budget? for about 800 bucks you can build a diesel fucking desktop

yeah for sure, building desktops is so economical. I have a pretty good one that i built for $600. I love it

yah my top deadline budget is around $500 maybe even lower, ive already got a psu, graphics card, hard drive, and optical drive, im really just looking for a great cpu, mobo, ram, and case set up for small after effects and premiere editing

What graphics card is it? If its an ati/amd one you'd want to switch to NVIDIA for their cuda acceleration in premiere/ae (and ps i believe, though that might work with opencl or something)

Thats graphics card is old, it only has 256mb of memory. Now it may work in premiere, but it will be slow. Really try to get a card with at least 1gb menory, preferably from the 600 series or if you want to save money the 500 series. You will see a big inprovment.

You don't need 6xx the 5xx work just as well too and 1gb isn't exactly necessary either but its nice to have
