How Goes it newschoolers?

Long time no post for me.

Anyway, if any of you are fairly decent on the water in either wakeboarding or slalom skiing and are looking for a sweet summer job send me a message. I am recruiting for a number of upscale summer camps. I have been teaching wakeboarding and skiing in camps for 8+ summers. It is really a summer you will never forget, and maybe a job you will never want to leave.

Bennies include

access to tournament inboard boats without paying for gas.(mastercraft, malibu, tige, nautique)

tons of free ski / ride time

Free room and board (you won't make a TON of money, but can save quite a bit by living for free)

Meet other staff from all over the country/world

Did I mention you get to ride until your arms fall off, and you get Paid for it.

Qualified applicants should be:

over 19years or completed first year of college/university

Able to ski and or wakeboard (you don't have to be pro, but you will be teaching others)

Experience driving Inboard boats

Responsible (you must keep the kids safe at all times)

CPR/Lifeguard/First Aid a plus, (most camps will train or pay for training)

So newschoolers, if any of you are interested, send me a message with a little bit about you, and we can talk about an awesome summer

Seems real legit. Bump up for someone who can take this profession and make it into a fun job. If i had the skills to water-ski i would be more than interested, but the slopes are enough for me! :)

This. Also, will this be going on in the next few years? I'm not 19 yet, but I may be able to do it then.

Thanks for the interest , a lot of messages very quick.

I think it would be best for me at this point, for anyone that is interested for more info, shoot me your email address via PM if you are ok with that (i am not a spammer/scammer), and maybe a few quick questions for me. I can address answers better via email, and won't get the people/questions mixed up.

Here are a few questions i am already getting

where are the camps?

they are all over the u.s., mostly in new england (ME, VT, CT, NH, NY) , but have many in the south and west coast too. Not sure if we are working with any of the canadian camps or not.

How good do I have to be?

Different camps have different needs. Some camps I have worked for, run 4 to 5 boats, the oldest kids could probably go on to compete at the college level by the end of camp. Other camps run only 1 or 2 boats, and do more innertubing than wakboarding. Most camps have a 1 -2 week trainining session that will teach you how to drive and coach in a camp atmosphere. Right now I am specializing in recruiting "skilled ski staff" because that is in short demand for the camps with the more intense programs. So I could probably place any skill level where needed.

Just to make clear these are sleepaway summer camps that have great ski and wakeboard programs, not a fulltime year round waterski only camp like found in flordia.

As important, if not more than water skills, is responsibillity. Not looking for frat boys and girls that want to get thier party on all day on the boats, it is a job, a sweet one, but a job nonetheless.

So yeah , shoot me a message with your email, and maybe a short profile of who you are, and what you are looking for this summer.

most camps start sessions start end of june thru mid august. That is your avg 7-8 week camp.

some camps are split into 4 week sessions were usually kids leave midway, staff stays and a new group comes in.

Most training starts two weeks before the kids come, so most staff usually arrives start of june. Every camp is different, some have preseason work you can come early and do manual labor if you want some extra cash. Some camps have post season rentals and groups you might be able to extend you summer employment. For the most part, think about being gone from june 1 to august 18 or so.

Also these camps have tons of other positions, sick climbing walls, hiking trips, sailing etc, so there are plenty of other jobs for non wakeboard/ski friends if you want to try and work with some buddies. I just specialize in waterski staff recruitment.

Will be sending out emails today with more info, and where to apply etc.

Also this reply will move this to the top, for those that are skimming through, I am working for a company that is recruiting qualified ski staff to work at summer camps around the u.s. .

Send me a pm with your basic info, water experience, and email address , and I can get you more details and answer questions via email.

haha, bad timing I know.

I am serious though. I just sent a batch of emails to those that are interested. It really is the best job i can imagine. The pay isn't amazing, but the experience is hard to describe, even tougher to top.

been waterskiing for like twenty years or something crazy like that. i first got up on skis when the original nintendo game boy came out that was my parents bribe to get me to do it lol. been around boats all my life. where is this camp at?

once again, I am not recruiting for any ONE camp. I am working for a company that is placing ski staff with camps. There hundreds and hundreds of summer camps in the U.S. and Canada. I know most of the camps are located in New England (ME, VT, CT, NY, NY, MA) , but I know there are plenty of camps in the mid atlantic, the south and west coast, midwest, you name it. Right now there are a lot of camps looking for good staff. The company I am recruiting for is placing ski staff with camps. Hope that clears it up, I am by no means a conscise typer or good speller, I know my ramblings can be confusing.

Cliff notes. The 'camp' you ask about, is actually a lot of camps all over north america. Most of them happen to be in New England, but not all of them.

Send me a pm with or info, or questions, and I will get back to you asap.

Alright, I have been trying to email everyone.

Let me know if you sent your email address and I have not sent you any info yet. Things are looking good, more camps are signing up and looking for staff each day.

man i wish i was like 19, i waterski

heres a video of my friends and i last summer, sorry for the bad quality

Nice footie man, looking pretty good for being young. I love ski jumping, a lot of that camps i am recruiting for have tournament jumps, such a fun experience.

Still getting a lot of intrests, but one again, the most common questions I am getting is WHERE is THE CAMP?

I am recruiting for MANY MANY CAMPS ALL AROUND THE COUNTRY.

sweet guys, thanks again for all the response. So far i think we have 2 confirmed newschoolers that have a sweet summer job, and at least 2 in the interview process as we speak. If there is anyone that sent me a message, and I have not responded to, please let me know. Also, if you have already filled out your waterskiworks.com application, and have not heard from anyone, also let me know, I can try and figure it out for you.
