Golf and rugby in the olympics but still no skiing half pipe

I wrote an article about this and I emailed one of the editors of Freeskier, K2 Steeze, and a couple other magazines asking them if they thought that skiing halfpipe would ever make it and they all said that even though there are amazing athletes in skiing pipe and it deserves to be in it most likely will never make it because the general public still considers skiing to be the "traditional" snow sport that has racing and things like that and not a "cool, hip, and in" thing the way snowboarding is, at least perceived, by the public.

Plus you get to see this sometimes in racing.

wait, you realize golf and rugby are huge sports through a lot of the world, right? skiing halfpipe is... not.

golf is tough as fuck, it is definitely a sport, if you have ever played it takes so much time to get good

there's a ton of things that take a long time to really become good at... that's not exactly a legitimate argument.
i agree that golf's a sport, though. it isn't so much being physically fit as much as knowing how to move your body, having great hand-eye coordination, and being able to separate yourself, mentally, from the pressure of the situation... all of which are required by every other sport. if golf isn't a sport, pitchers aren't athletes- all golfers do is hit a little white ball and all pitchers do is throw a little white ball.
