im headed up to whistler next week for 3 days. any advice? how are the parks (updates on park website are old)? best places to ski steeps if theres pow? etc. just any tips/advice greatly appreciated

I haven't been in the last weeks cause of exams, but generally blackcomb park> whistler park

hard to describe the best steeps (mostly cause I have an awful sense of direction), but explore have fun.

for the steeps:have you ever skied whis or blackcomb before?

if so you probably know spanky's ladder(b-comb)which you get to by going left off the top of glacier chair and hugging the cliff untill the boot track on you right. also saudin's couloir or whatever they call it now (couloir extreme?)and cougar chutes which you can get to from the top of horstman/7th and following the road around behind the hut.

as for whis, I don't really know anything to specific.just harmony/peak/symphony and you're bound to find some good lines.

agreed, if the snow is good spanky's is top. also 7th heaven is nice when there's sun, and symphony has a pretty nice cornice to drop off of when i am up there mid-winter. never been this early though so not completely sure what the conditions would be like

I can't during the week man, I found myself a part time job that pays me too well to complain. I have the 25th, 28th and 1st off though haha.

new question. what channel might the dew tour be on? does canada get the USA network? id like to watch when i get off the slopes...

I'll be up there Saturday forward.. moving there and its my first time in Whistler. If anyone knows the mountain and wants someone to ride with, let me know!

regular cable won't get you USA network but I've seen NBC pick that sort of thing up in the past. they had some snowboarding contest on last weekend.

it was fun for the most part. i threw up all saturday night but still got some skiing done. pow on whistler peak yesterday morning was fucking ridiculous. definitely going back sometime. thanks for your help guys

Yesterday was sick. Still hungover, alpine opened, 7th trees went off, ruby bowl, greyzone. So good.
Spanky's had a line from the top of the bootpack to the exit of glacier chair. Shibby was wack.

^Well what the fuck happened with lakeside then? I was first chair this morning and put 3 laps through there before anyone else showed up in the shining sun, and for some reason, no one skiied out the far side of the bowl yesterday, nor the bottom of DOA. There were 2 tracks in far lakeside proper and maybe 4-5 in DOA. Completely tracked by noon. People lining up for spankys laps missed out, but more for me.

I already told you we had a few untouched runs through there but the vis was too poor to continue skiing. So we headed for trees.
